The women and her family, her daughters, her daughters' husbands would constitute a family group and they would live not as individual families, but would live in family units. Grandparents, all of their children, and whatever relatives happen to be around...Anthropologists have said that the Apaches had a patriarchal society, but it was only superficially patriarchal. The women had an extreme amount of power in the decision making process.
