This is my incredible best friend Ali , my missing piece, my spirit animal, the thelma to my louise. We've coped with each other for 10 years... gradually keeping each other sane while driving each other mad.
We both have mental health issues but she's never let it hold her back, she graduted top of her engineering degree and is now being headhunted by several companies. She's 26 and accomplished so much.
Over the past few months I've struggled with my bi polar and my depression, and she's been there despite her own problems... this morning I opened my door to an unexpected delivery of a buddy box... it's a self care box to help battle depression.
I cried. Actually cried. My best friend despite her own health and mental health issues, took the time to send me this, out of the blue.
I've never been more grateful for anyone in my life as I am for meeting my best friend as we drank under age in the toilet of gigging venue in liverpool all those years ago. ♡
I don't know many people like this or who would do things like this... but it got me thinking about the amount of awareness and stigma around depression.
These boxes cost £20 for a subscription or £12 for a one off box... in the long run it's not a massive amount to make someone smile. It could be just what they need without saying a word.
Let's spread kindness and show that in a world full of war, terrorism, shitty politics and greed... their are people who care. ♡
All the love,
Circe ♡
