Saw Broadcast on Sunday. Beautiful show. Lots of loud drones and ethereal vocals. I'm a sucker for that. Off ot DC to see a friend's show at the Black Cat this saturday. Should be a good time.
If anyone is in DC, say hi and come to the show!

hello hello!

i just read your post on the music board about the beatles, and i'm so happy about what you wrote, i get so incredibly frustrated with people disliking the beatles, they are just the one band that i do not feel its right for anyone to ever dislike, if you claim to enjoy music at all.

also, i'm seeing the matrix tomorrow at midnight smile rock
royaljack:
The Matrix was great! And confussing. So much so, I did a trop to Chinatown and picked up a $5 bootleg just to double-check some stuff.

so, the SG GROUPS thing is sorta weird. I guess to each his own, but I thought I had moved past that stage of my life where someone wanted me to fill out an application with references in order to talk online with them and meet other people in my city. I guess you never know on the internet and better safe than sorry, and...

considering this is a porn site and some of the SGs go to gatherings, the "velvet rope" is there for the protection of the girls - and the other members. you may not be a psycho, but how do they know that? it may seem weird but the people in NYC are great so give them a chance even if you think the process is a little weird.
webigailboop:
what group did you try to get into? usually all you need to get in is for people to know who you are and that you actually contribute to the boards and stuff. sorry this bummed you out.

saw X-2 tonite. enjoyed it very much. called my little brother back home to track down my old comic books. No dice. He played dumb. I'll find them, though. I bet he got rid of them on eBay. My mom should have defended them with her life, but she's a softie.

also watched boxing on PPV. why do i like it when they pound the...

Tonite, I saw THROWING MUSES at Irving Plaza and it was transcendent. If they come and play near you, RUN to see them. Kristin locked into another part of the universe tonite-- the encore was old skool as hell- they played my fav song AMERICA and threw it down. I love seeing a band that just blows their records out of the water... The Muses...

I was not crazy about Throwing Muses but I did like them but haven't really kept up with them since Tanya Donnelly left group. I bet it was a great live show though--I hear Donnelly played with them at Irving Plaza show.

My entire DVD collection (except for non-region 1 discs) can be perused here. Click on the "most recent entries" link to see ones I bought recently. Don't be apalled by lack of entries in CD and Book categories there--just have never gotten around to entering them. (Haven't been in a data entry mood recently!)

What do you do in film these days? And what's the connection with the gawker site?
groove:
Oh, that would be a fantastic show... I didn't know they were touring?! I hope they come to Chicago... Kristin's voice is just awesome...

I remember seeing them way back... when Tanya was still with the group. They were great then too.

so, music videos nite part two @ MoMA
not as reveltaory as least week, but they did show BEAT IT by Michael Jackson, and I have to say, despite it's positive message about racial integration among street gangs (and their secret dancing inclinations), that video is so ridiculous that I couldn't even laugh at it. Just had to shake my head in a sort of...

very good move.

and also, i've never actually traveled to the east coast, so consequently i haven't seen the museum of modern art, a shame, i've really really always wanted to, the st. louis museum of art, leaves much to be desired.

We finally got digital cable in Williamsburg and so I got to see 120 Minutes for the first time in years the other night--it''s still on on MTV2. And after suffering through all of the lame interstitial nonsense with the lame VJ to see maybe 3 or 4 good videos I found myself wondering why there is no music video on demand channel. I can go on the web, of course, but who wants to see some crappy realplayer (even at broadband speed) version? More and more artists are putting bonus DVDs with their CDs with their videos.

Hey, excellent selection of comics!

I was just looking at the SG's I picked for my page. Think I have a type?

I never realized my own proclivities.

So.
NYC was sort of nice to me today. The subway had a seat to and from work, the gym had machines open, I parked my bike and it didn't get stolen, the weather was calm and maybe a little pre-drizzle, I got an e-mail from a girl who wants to go on a date this weekend, I bumped into an old friend, and I...

So.
I went to see ...Trail of Dead last night in NYC. decent show, they were very drunk and not very tight which made it more punk rock and more to my liking. Throwing Muses next weekend and Broadcast is coming in May.

Not looking forward to work this week. Its spring and I'd rather be playing outside all day and inside all night.
