I attended a leadership conference last week. I had mixed feelings about it at first, thinking it could just be some "motivational speaker" feel good bullshit.

Reality proved to be quite to the contrary. I spent two days listening to some of the most experienced and successful people in the industry spit some serious wisdom and practical lessons on how to take your company to...

I attended something similar back in college. It was an experience I will never forget. If you get a good speaker, their words can be life changing.
3am:
Hey!!!

It's nice to hear from you! I thought you were gone forever. How are you doing? Are you still into photography?

The blind date went well, but I'm not sure if she digs me or not. It's tough when the girl is really shy.

Some people are seriously into their absinthe. I'm talking about gas chromatography to reproduce hundred year old varietals and whatnot. That's quite a dedication to a drink that's rumored to cause epilepsy and tuberculosis!
3am:
Wow! I didn't know people went to that extreme to make it. Interesting.

I'm reading plenty about psychology as of late. I'm reading the modern seminal title Social Intelligence, which seeks to explain how our thinking brain and our emotional brain interact. I've only just started the book and I'm already digging the evolutionary view of emotions. In short, Goleman suggests that our emotions evolved primarily to aid in survival and reproduction over the course of tens...

I do love my life. I've been reflecting on the past year or so that I've spent in California. I cannot help but be grateful for all the wonderful friends I've made, the adventures I've experienced, and the goals I've accomplished.

My landlord just rented out the apartment upstairs from me for about 80% more than what I'm paying for my place. One showing, three...

My computer decided to crap its pants this past weekend. Something on the motherboard slowly fried itself over the period of a couple of weeks. Fortunately my hard drive is still intact. All the photos are safe.

I still haven't picked up a copy of Bioshock yet. I'm still very much looking forward to trying it out. The trusted opinions of my friends say it's...

I spent the last weekend on the east coast. I was reasonably underwhelmed by the heat and humidity and suburban sprawl. I was delighted by spending time with friends and family and taking an opportunity to chill out and relax for a while. I loved walking on the beach and riding a bike through the woods.

That was simply everything that a vacation should be....

After time and repeated threats of dropping the price, I bought an Xbox 360 last weekend. Copious amounts of time were spent in the pursuit of killing zombies. I'm such a sucker for Dead Rising right now. Starting the game over with a more powerful character when you die took some getting used to. Now I'm fine with it now. It's like combining challenge in...

I watched House of 1000 Corpses last night. I heard it wasn't all that great of a film, so I set my expectations accordingly. I'm pleased to report that I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of that film. Sure, it had it's moments where the story could have been improved. I would have liked to see a little more character development because I...

I am blessed in my life to be surrounded by some of the finest individuals a person could ever wish for.

I'm back in this neck of the woods for another extended visit. I had the brilliant opportunity to hang out with monkey13 a couple of weeks ago when he was visiting our fair burg. It was a brilliant, oft alcohol fueled adventure.

These days...

Glad you're back!

I've been listening to Razorlight and Dandy Warhols. I'll give those bands you listed a listen. There's so much good music out there!
