My back hurts. -_-
But I feel pretty damned good, reagardless. Cleaned up and moved furniture/theater/etc. in the living room around. Happiness.
Went to Comp USA today to pick up a new mouse pad and wrist pad so I don't get another carpal tunnel flareup, and they had an XBox 360 kiosk with a demo unit hooked up to a small HDTV. Played Kameo and King Kong, and both are pretty decent games. King Kong looks like it'll be huge in it's entirity. But one thing I noticed is that the visuals were just not up to snuff compared to what I expected. Especially on Kameo. At E3, J Allard (I think...whoever the "hip" bald guy at Microsoft is) boasted that the "age of the jaggies is gone". Such is not true with BOTH of these games. There wasn't a single hint of even a basic multisampling to smooth out the edges. Kameo looked like it cold run on my current XBox in 720p High-Def. King Kong was slightly better. Granted these are first-gen titles....but looking back to first gen titles on the Dreamcast such as Sonic and Soul Calibur, those were HUGELY impressive, while this was like "looks okay".
The video for Project Gotham Racing 3 was nice, though. REAL nice. Many launch titles have unfortunately been pushed back even further. Dead or Alive 4 is slated for December, and Oblivion for March of next year. Lost Odyssey (by Mistwalker) is due out Jan 2nd.
But, I'm seriously rethinking buying a 360 on opening day now. Only titles at launch I really want is GUN and Ridge Racer 3. They can wait, cause I've got WoW and Magna Carta to keep me busy...
