So, as you may not already know, I just moved into my new house not one month ago. I've been painting, buying new furniture, getting things situated...you know- the usual. This morning I realize my 6 year old refridgerator (with a 5 year warranty- oh, the humor) took a giant dump. Not rad. I just had to throw away a few humdred dollars in groceries...

You can actually get a really decent used fridge from places around here, I picked up a full size completely operational one for like $450ish. Then again I think I got pretty freakin' lucky. If ywa are still looking I can find the addresses of a few good places to check.

I have a bunch of friends and family are Diabetic, and it completely sucks... I relate. Im the exact opposite(Hypoglycemic vs. Hyperglycemic) so gotta watch my blood sugar closely to keep from swinging the other way. You should check out a "sweetener" called stevia. You can pick it up at Trader Joe's and places like that. Non-caloric and doesn't screw up your blood sugar, and isn't a carcinogen like aspertame and sucralose. Just avoid the crap that has Lactose as an added ingredient, it seems to give it a weird flavor.

Just for the record, the hiring process really sucks. I hate interviewing people.

It never ceases to amaze me, the amount of apathy most people generally have toward making a good first impression with a prospective employer. Not only that, but I try to put as much specific information in my ad as possible, and these people who claim in their resumes to have such...

Today will be laundry and watching the dvd sets of Robot Chicken and Animaniacs with my dog. I know, you wish you were me.

I will definitely give lollypops a try, I know I am totally orally fixated on cigarettes and toothpicks aren't doing the trick. Thanks!
mothra:
Yeah, the whole process sucks. But in the end you basically live how you used to... but with a little more dicipline.

That and all your friends need to keep a better eye on you when you do go out and party.

So, two whole days of finger-poking in the bag. I think I'm getting used to it now and it doesn't hurt so much. They tell me I'm supposed to monitor my blood sugar for a week on a special deit, then they'll decide what kind of treatment (if any) that I need. I really hope I don't end up taking insulin. The thought of having...

The fact they didn't put you on anything right away is a good sign. Chances are you'll just need to change your eating habits and say goodbye to hard alchohol and you'll be fine. Adult onset diabetes is usually pretty easy to get control of.

Today I got up early and tried to clean up some of the filth left behind in my pool from the monsoon storms last week. To my surprise, there was some sort of dead, bloated rodent clogged in the fliter. I'm pretty sure at one point it was a gopher- now it's just absolutely fucking repugnant. I was going to take a picture of it...

Tonight I get to be like a mogwai: no food after midnight.

Tomorrow: 4 hour blood/glucose test. I get to be poked every hour from 8:00am to 12:00pm. Not to mention the the ultra delicious sugar drink I get to slam when I get there. Suck it diabetes. mad

I guess though, it might explain the horrible reaction my body has after consuming sugar or skipping...

So I spent a little time checking out local members. Who knows how many there actually are, but in my opinion a good chunk of them seem like your typical unsocialized (as far as real-life interaction goes) internet douche bags. I took the liberty of commenting in the people's journals who didn't though. Mostly.......Kinda.........I think. Maybe one or two exceptions. biggrin

Wow, does that mean I don't seem unsocialized?

There are some crazy creepy people on here, but we do have a pretty good group of normalish people too.
