So I saw NIN the other night in S.F. They were excellent!!! I was particualry impressed with the Dresden Dolls. I know there has been this "buzz" surrounding them for a while now and it's much deserved. It's nice to see a band (or in this case, a duo) dare to be romantic and theatrical... in era dominated by shitty, whiney, and self-righteous emo bands, they were a breath of fresh air.
Nine Inch Nails just simply kicked ass. I didn't want it to end. They played all the songs I love.. surprisingly a few off the EP Broken, and the lovely "Burn" from Natural Born Killers. I think they played three or four new songs which sounded great, even the new single (which I ddin't care much for when I first heard it) sounded really good live. Unfortunately things really started to pick up during the last two songs they played. They ended with "Head Like a Hole", which I've heard a million times, but not live in a while. For some reason it seemed to be played with more ferocity and energy then the previous songs (maybe it's because they knew it was the last one of the night) and you could really feel it. Smashed guitars and amps ensued and ended the night perfectly. A great show!!! I'm glad they're back.
P.S. Interesting footnote... I think my friend and I saw a "little person" prostitute while driving around looking for interesting thing/places to photograph the next day. She was dressed in a pink tube top with matching skirt and shoes, and was all "dolled up", and looking to party. Quite possibly the strangest and most surreal thing I have ever seen. Then I almost got in to an accident because my friend said this: "since she's a dwarf, is she half off?" What an asshole lol.

I'm glad to hear that the new single sounded good live because I really don't care for it.
