James Brown - Soul Power 1970 biggrin

Today has been productive so far. Listed a bunch of items on ebay that have been collecting dust. Tonight I should be updating my website a bit.

The Fender Pro Reverb rebuild is coming along. The circuit board is about 1/3rd finished & will get completed in the next few days.

The 1956 Hammond C3 project has been sitting...

Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow may be one of the most perfect albums ever recorded. I like the rest of the Airplane catalog quite a bit, but this one just has something extra that provides cohesion from start to finish.

Today I am working on a 1978 Fender Pro Reverb. These amps are not very collectable due to changes in the circuitry from the 1960's...

yesterday's fun was a tedious surgery on my tweed champ clone. the output transformer needed to be replaced, so i unsoldered wires, disconnected the volume pot & input jacks, pulled the board up, replaced the transformer & reversed the process. the amp fired right up when it was back together, only to learn that the output transformer was not the problem. puke

the silvertone 1484 got...

another productive day going on here. feels like the bizarro-world where I am the exact opposite of my normally lazy self.

shedding emotional encumberances has lifted my spirits significantly. while the change within me has been made, the messy part of speaking it aloud has yet to occur. either way, this soul is ready to move on and focus on what is important, rather than...

Wow you actually got your cat to use one of those pet beds. it only works for me if there is a heating pad in it. miao!!

So what kind of gun do you own? I want to get a small ladylike handgun myself. Any suggestions? I've got friends that go to an indoor shooting range that I'd like to start going with.

I'm impressed that you volunteer at an animal shelter - tough work, and heartbreaking sometimes. (Um, saw that you posted about this in the SGFL group by the way - I'm not really a mind reader. I'd just make a good detective is all.)

I think I'll go cry now. Just read your "makes me sad" and it reminded me of my cat that passed away due to kidney and liver failure among other things. It was really hard - I feel for you. He was like my son. I was so attached to him and moved by his very trying and hard life that I never wanted to forget about it - he was always tough and found his peace. So I got a tattoo with his nickname as a memorial to him. If you ever want to talk about it, I'm an ear to listen. smile

How many cats you have? I've got too many beig a Gato Rancher and all. wink

Stop by and say hi sometime, you should try to make it to the SGFL gatherings too. I try to make them when I can. *hearts sqp*

the aroma in the air tonight consists of gardenburgers, nag champa & old hammond organs. i'll be adding some smoked weed to that potpourri in just a few minutes.

the first parts order arrived today. hopefully on monday the rest of what i need to proceed will be here.

today i shipped out three guitar amps to ebay folks. i haven't listed any items in...

resistors, capacitors, tubes, transformers, switchcraft jacks. this has been the totality of the last two days. and i like it!

waiting on parts orders to proceed with the dozen or so projects i have lined up. the inbetween times are what drive me mad.

jensen speakers, atlas compression drivers & tung-sol 6550's.

yeah!

the last few days have seemed better than those preceeding them. productivity has not been so elusive. maybe it is the vitamins i am taking. could be my reduced THC intake. the weather has been beautiful, that is surely a factor.

whatever the reason, i am grateful for this window of positivity & jumping the opportunity to maximize on this motivated phase.

it is certainly...

working for yourself can be a double edged sword. on one hand, i can wear, listen to & smoke whatever i want while working at home. on the other hand, the manager at mcdonald's made twice what i did in 2003.

one of the best jobs i have ever had was washing cars for a rental car company. got to be outdoors all day &...

ear infection still going strong, so i am watching old horror movies with my cat tonight.

we just finished tales of terror (1962), starring vincent price, peter lorre, basil rathbone & the stunning debra paget in a trio of edgar allen poe inspired stories.

next up: the pit & the pendulum, featuring gothic horror star barbara steele.

happy new year! go out and smoke a...

the flu was bad, the ear infection is worse. I miss hearing things in stereo. will the eardrum rupture or will the eustachian tube open? only time will tell.
