live jamming? I've come across it at the 100 club, with a jazz tap dancer too, but most place I know are obviously based around booked groups.... of course all jazz is a jam and improvised to an extent
best places I came across were actually in Prague, but I'm not really a good person to ask, no big jazz buff. Really, try skimming through TimeOut for a start and then talk to people at the venues
Dinosaur Jr are great.. and they're still very good or they appeared to be on tv.. they just didn't seem to have the same chemistry and I can't figure out exactly why they reformed.. do they have a new album? J Mascis had his solo stuff going and thats good stuff too. If you want an overview of Dino Jr get Ear Bleeding Country.. their "Best of".. its an alright compilation.. Their first two albums are really good.. I don't own anything past their first two and haven't heard their later stuff enough to recommend em though. Maybe I expected too much.. it has been fifteen years I think since the original line-up last played together. Their first three albums were re-released last week.. Im gonna pick those up eventually.
