Sweet. A brief period of extreme forgetfulness, but now I can enter a whole new log.
So I went to the Burlesque show on Thursday, which was awesome, and which was accompanied by a funny ass band called something like Tsu Tsi Ma Mi Re. Imagine japanese bubble-gum pop girls combined with heavy metal. It was crazy, and hilarious.
I tried to come up with a tactfull way of mentioning to my 8:15 class that I only got a few hours of sleep because I was at a show, but I think they figured it out pretty quickly.
In kind of a rough mood right now. I used to have several sort of steady things in my life, but they all seem to be disolving: relationship, aikido, etc... at the same time I am excited about all the possible directions that my life might possibly take. And partly its the never ending rain. Dear God. I think I am going to drown. In New Mexico (state motto: land of enchantment) there are rainy days, but more often, a warm day followed by a warm sensual afternoon shower, which brings out the smells of the sage brush and pinon trees.
Rain makes me wax poetic, and feel lonely, which accounts for me sitting here doing this at 12:05 on a friday night.
Nine Inch Nails is great dark mood music...

Nine Inch Nails is good angry, screaming music. Which reminds me of something funny that happened this week in my classroom: my 10th graders are reading Julius Caesar, and we were deconstructing the dialogue when Brutus tells the conspirators that the murder should be quick and necessary, not a mutilation or a butcher job. I asked the kids, why does Brutus say this? Is there a difference? But I didn't get much response. So I gave them a hypothetical scenario and I pretended to shoot an imaginary person, then pretended to hack an imaginary person with an ice pick, violently thrusting my clenched hand like I was stabbing someone in a frenzy. I looked at the students, and they were mesmerized. One said, "Miss, are you ok?" and another said, "Miss, I am a little freaked out that you know how to do that. Is there something you're not telling us?" It made me laugh, even hours later.
I hope that helps a little, look forward to meeting you!
