Most of the people on this site (including myself) haven't witnessed a politician on the national level as inspirational as Barack Obama in our lifetime, and last night he came one step closer to being our next President.

I cannot overstate how optimistic I am about the future of our world and nation right now. I know that there are tough times ahead for us...

For anyone who hasn't been keeping up in person or in Shalome's blog or in the Dogs group or wherever, we adoped Leo a couple weeks after we started fostering him.

Here's the scoop for those of you who haven't heard it already:

We were fostering him, with every intention of letting him go to a good home when the time came, and getting...

Today, Shalome and I became foster dog parents. Actually, we signed up last weekend, after one of our neighbors who works for a rescue organization encouraged us to check it out. But tonight we went down to the adoption event where the rescue shelter takes their dogs to [hopefully] be adopted, and our neighbor told us there was a perfect dog for us back at...

I had a long entry about this being my first blog of the year and recapping a bunch of highlights from last year -- various trips I took with friends, Prom, my surprise 30th birthday party (aka. the best present ever) -- but it took me 3 days to write some four paragraphs, and I decided to scrap the entire thing because if I tried...

I bumped your thread just in case others haven't heard about it. I just heard about it for the first time a couple weeks ago. I really like the idea, and if a lot of people got involved the investment would balloon, because my understanding is that once it gets paid back the money is reinvested into new projects.

As per the friends thing, is it a technical obstacle (doesn't seem like it'd be) or just a layout concern? Either way, I'm glad to hear you've brought it to their attention. Thnx.

I love Halloween, but the fact that it always comes so close to my birthday means that I'm rarely able to fully enjoy it or get into the Halloween spirit. This year is no different. It really just feels like another day, for the most part. You might be wondering, "What does 'getting into the Halloween spirit' mean?" In truth, I don't know. It just...

I've had Tegan and Sara's Are You Ten Years Ago practically on repeat all week, with the Yeah Yeah Yeah's Down Boy fitting into the rotation periodically.

This sort of obsessiveness over a single song really skews my Last.fm band rankings.

Have I mentioned I'm a huge data mining and stats geek?

I think you articulated my feelings about Stardust pretty well just then. I really had no idea what to expect, other than the fact that anything spawned from the brain of Gaiman is bound to be awesome. Truly, I loved it and have not the slightest criticism.
