I went to see The Watchmen on Sunday...excellent movie. I had a friend tell me that he had not been able to quit thinkiing about the movie, after he saw it. I must say, Ive found myself rather in the same boat.
For those who have not seen it, I won't give anything away...I'm sure everyone has at least heard about the prominent blue dong! I will say, make sure you go with an empty bladder, and don't drink too much soda! It's quite a long flick, and you won't want to miss anything to go take a piss!
Not only is the film visually stunning, and has a cool story, it really made me think about our society...what really does denote good from evil? Can we have one without the other? Do the extremes truly exist, or are we all opperating within some grey area between the two? It seems to me that a lot of what we consider to be moralistically right or wrong is so socialized....that what we may consider a basic thing, may in fact only fit within the rules of a given society.
Maybe there is no right....maybe there are no true heroes. Or maybe, in spite of our flaws, we all are, to some extent, right, just, and heroic. Maybe.
