Still haven't finished the paper, for all those interested.
Irrational fears must be the most ridiculously frustrating phenomenon imaginable. This being because they are, perversely, the hardest to overcome. Reasonable fears, of reasonable fearful things? Tough, but doable, because the stimulus lays within the bounds of reason. But senseless fears, things that one KNOWS they should relax about, that usually have to do with silly, trivial things - those are bloody irritating. There's no real demon that needs to be faced...only one's own mind. That's a hell of a battle. I'm making headway, I think. A long phonecall and a friendly neighbour cat helped greatly.
Back to my to-do list now!
