We got our new play set today, after three and a half weeks of waiting for delivery. That was a long three weeks too, with Jason asking about the play set every hour or so. In hindsight, we probably should not have brought him with us to pick the thing out!
Anyway, it is here and all ready to go, thanks to the extra money we wisely paid to have someone else build and install the thing. It took the professionals almost 6 hours to build it, so I can only imagine that poor Jason would have had to spend the next 2 months watching us try to build the thing if we had attempted it ourselves.
I was so proud of my son too, because after he got home from school and saw it ready for him, he decided that the first thing we should do was have some safety rules. So, at that time, I was feeling pretty good about myself and figuring I had done a good job with him since he was so concerned about having safety rules. He came up with some good ones too, such as (1) no jumping off the swings, (2) no swinging too high, (3) no running up the slide the wrong way, and (4) no jumping off the slide.
We're off to a good start!
Okay, so I guess I forgot some important things, such as (1) no climbing up onto the roof of the fort to see if you can fly, and (2) the top of the swing set bar is not meant to be used like a tight rope....
I didn't get pictures of those attempts, due to trying to stop the disaster before it occurred. But, as Jason was quick to point out when I stopped him from the previously mentioned feats, in all fairness...those things were not forbidden by the safety rules! Gotta love kids and the way they think!
