My Spirit Journey into the Amazon Rain Forest and the Heart of Darkness
A pleasant Journey on Ayahuasca
Its been five years now since my time in the Amazon Rain Forest with the Huaroni Indians. It seems like yesterday, and it always will.
When I speak of the heart of darkness, Im not just talking about the jungle. I came to terms with a lot while I was in the Amazon. I realized a lot of truths about myself.
About who I was, and where I was going. It was life changing to say the least, and I am very grateful for my time spent with the Shaman.
Youre probably wandering who I am, and how I ended up in the Amazon.
Well I grew up in California, and by the time I was twenty two I knew that there was more out there in the world for me. I always knew deep down inside that I was destined for more.
Its not there was anything wrong with Chico, but it wasnt for me. The nine to five grind has never been my thing.
Ive had plenty of your standard jobs in the service industry, as well as various jobs in the area of construction. But they where never for me, I knew that there was more out there.
So when I was twenty two years old I gave everything I owned to all my friends and left California with a purpose. That purpose was to be a Bering Sea Fisherman at any cost, no matter what I had to do, I would get on a Bering Sea Crab Boat or die trying.
Luckily for me that never happened, when I left, my family and friends where all against it. You see at the time I was over 280 lbs. and in no shape to work the deck of a Alaskan King Crab boat.
But I kept my vision strong, and moved towards my dreams like nothing else in the world existed. I wont lie and say it was easy, but nothing worth doing ever is.
The golden rule usually the bigger the opportunity the bigger the reward. And let me tell you, the rewards of working these boats where huge on so many levels.
Granted there where risk, but there always are in the path to success.
It was dangerous, it was scary, and it was worth every second of hardship along the way to get it.
The path had its ups and down like everything in life.
Let me think, along the way I became a executive chef on yachts and cruise ships which was no small task in its own right.
And I spent time in South America, so Im going to get into that next. And Ill come back to my story of how I landed a job on one of the meanest fishing boats on the ocean in another post.
So South America, where do I begin? The beautiful landscape, the fire that burns inside of every hot blooded South American, or the gorgeous women in abundance throughout the entire continent.
El Jardin Hotel and Restraunt Puyo
I loved it all, every second of my adventure through the South American wilds.
I first flew into Lima Peru, and stayed for two weeks with a family that I met, who I still keep in contact with to this day, I love them with all of my heart, and I always will.
But after two weeks I had to see the rest of the country and the decision to go North was made. I always wanted to go to the Jungle, and would let nothing stop me.
The Cloud Forest of Ecuador
Along the way to Ecuador I got into run ins with Cartel, locals who didnt have the same views as myself. And all sorts of other incidents that I can get into another time.
I ultimately ended up in Tumbes Peru, and was there for about three nights before preparing to enter Ecuador.
Unfortunately a mosquito thought the taste of my blood was good, and when she decided to drink from me, she left me a nice little surprise. It wasnt malaria if thats what your wandering, and thank god, I might not be here if that was the case.
It was fever of some sort, I still dont know to this day, and probably never will. The doctors in the clinics couldnt tell, and neither could the hospitals.
Whatever it was it wasnt fun, and kicked me up and down for weeks. It was by sheer luck that I ended up in the Amazon doing a spirit journey that ended up cleaning me out, body, mind and soul.
It was life changing to say the least, and I am planning to make it back down there later this year for another run.
Guayaquil Ecuador at Night
The journey through Ecuador to the Amazon was long, and beautiful, I traveled from the coastal city of Guayaquil which was gorgeous. And through central Ecuador to the eastern city of Puyo, which is smack dab in the middle of the Amazon Basin. Puyo is the last vestige before you enter the Heart of Darkness, or the deep jungle.
Puyo is sweaty little jungle town, full of adventurers from all over the world, Indians from the jungle, and all sorts of other characters straight out of an Indiana Jones Movie.
One of the most amazing experiences I had was traveling through the cloud forest of Eastern Ecuador before hitting the Amazon basin, which is absolutely amazing, words cannot describe it.
Anyway I ended up in Puyo, and this is where I met Patricio, Huaroni Indian from Puyo who had been living in the deep jungle for the previous seven years. He was remarkable to say the least.
He ultimately is how I ended up in the Amazon Rain Forest on my own personal Spirit Journey which cleansed me of the sickness, and purged my soul.
I met Patricio, and left for the deep jungle two days later, for a day and a half we hiked and took canoe until we finally came to the shamans camp.
It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, and I didnt want to leave to be honest with you. I plan on going back for an extended stay next time.
Back to the story, when I met the Shaman, George, yes his name was George, I know its funny for a guy who wears a head dress and Jaguar claws around his neck. But it turns out western influence is very strong everywhere, even in the Amazon.
Any way, George told Patricio my soul needed to be cleaned, and that I had a sickness that there was only one cure for.
Ayahuasca Ingredients
And what was that cure? You guessed it Ayahuasca. My initial reaction to a native in the middle of the jungle telling me that I needed to take one of the strongest drugs known to man was no.
If you dont know anything about Ayahuasca, it has the largest concentration of DMT known to man. What is DMT, Di Methyl Tripdamine. DMT is one of the only naturally occurring chemicals known to exist in every living animal on the planet.
Its called the spirit molecule, and is known to give out of body experiences. An let me tell you, its all true, every crazy thing that you here about what people experience on DMT.
Anyway, Ayahuasca has one of the highest concentrations of DMT, and it is a life changing drug.
The things that I experienced on Ayahuasca, cant be put into words, and the story would take forever to write down here.
So instead I want to share it with you through video, and maybe youll get a better understanding of what happened in the jungle, and why I live life the way that I do.
I may write more in another post, but I want to do this in a video for the sake of getting the feeling.
My tale of the unknown, a spirit journey in the Amazon Basin on Ayahuasca
So that was my tale of change and growth through my spirit journey in the Amazon Basin on Ayahuasca
I hope you found some value in story, or at least some entertainment.
I live for travel if you havent noticed, and I would love to help you find out what you live for if you dont already know. I would also like to teach anyone who is willing to learn how to make an income online.
