We hold this life like we hold a glass. Hands clenched around something that lasts only minutes. The lives we lead are influenced by ties. Success and its killing our daily routine. We should be so grateful as to have such a life then to waste it on something that will end soon enough. They've scared us enough with words like "Failure" and "homeless", but I'm happy to know that I've grown such a dick. I'm fearless of no home, I'm fearless of loss, I'm fearless of dying when I know I'm the boss. No white collar phrases, no white collar stares. Just shirtless encounters, no white collars there. This life is too short to be killing for power, this life is too short for competition. So just take these few seconds for granted, don't dwell on the top of your game. Soon this old life will flash before us, and corporate has no meaning then.
Death's Anti-Drug
Swim in this tar until it leaves traces inside your lungs.
No matches required and no nicotine gum.
You've found an easy way to die,
easier than lighting wood to flame.
Does this give you something more?
Does this give you anything?
Have you felt the solid ground enclose you in a shallow grave?
Have you felt the flowers die, on the tombstone where they lay?
Has your heart began to fail, and your skin began to pale?
Do the mourners dress in black while they cry for your loss?
Well I've smelled decay in the summer,
I've seen quotes dissapear uner winter's frost.
I've watched the leaves fall in autumn,
The spring covers memories under moss.
All this for what you've been waiting for,
and your death has held my hand longer than you have.
