sometimes people really surprise you
...in that good kind of way though.
all day long i've been having brief run-ins with really nice people.
everywhere.
today at mcc was the club rush thing. i went to get my e-mail on the american chemical society list again (since i can't make the meetings) and i didnt find it there. but, i did find the glad/pride/gay club and talked to them for a while. seems like a good group of people to me, and they're interested in getting together with ringling and new college for parties and events and blah blah. so maybe that could happen sometime.
then in my trig class i actually met the girl who sits next to me when she asked me about my neck and we started talking about piercings. she's really nice, and
seems like fun. she invited me to go to the castle this thursday with her and a bunch of people. of course, i have to work friday so it's probably not going to happen, but still it was cool to be invited out by someone you don't know.
after school i went to the post office to mail my textbook and there was a huge line, which i usually don't mind anyway, but it was made even better by generally friendly people in line and the most helpful little old postman ever. so sweet.
and on my way home from getting food two people totally let me out in awkward traffic situations. then they both smiled and waved.
days like this remind me that even though my (sometimes) ridiculous optimism and general faith in people can be crushed almost daily, it can built back up with such small gestures.
here are better bonfire pics taken by a photo major rather than a drunk girl. <3.
