Tuesdays... I really never got the hang of Tuesdays.
So, I finally began my Chevelle catalog on Saturday. I know I shouldn't procrastinate on my music; it's the only thing I take somewhat seriously anymore, but... but... well let's just leave it at that, shall we? I also obtained a Kyle Riabko sampler. Three tracks from the album Before. Musically, it's well done. "What did I get myself into," the first cut, makes me feel like I'm watching a romantic comedy with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks (As an actress and actor, not as people sitting on my couch coveting my popcorn). His voice distinctly carries an R & B attitude, and the second track "Carry On" has a heavy, heavy gospel feel to it. The last track "Paranoid" is a smidgen closer to my area of expertise, although it's seems like he belongs in a studio with Rob Thomas. It's a fast pace mid-level rock song, something you'd hear on the radio dial.
As far as my attitude toward listening to it, it's on the fringes of my musical Venn diagram, so I'd listen to it every now and then, but not religiously.
I think I like doing music reviews. It's probably one of the better decisions I've made in my life.
