I had a dream last night/today that I had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and only had a very short time left to live. as the doctor gave me the news I was suddenly overcome with this huge sense of relief and said something to the effect of "thank FUCK!" as I rushed out the door to get a pack of cigarettes and some beer (I should note that I havn't touched a drop of alcohol in almost 15 years and havn't smoked for the better part of that time either). when I woke up I found myself feeling mildly amused and disappointed.
Last night as I was walking down my block with my dog we came upon the corpse of a young house cat that had been freshly killed by a car, much to my dismay and that of my dog, he loves cats, probably more than he likes other dogs or people and was visibly upset as he looked from the poor dead cat up to me and back again. so I did the only thing I could do and leashed Shane (my dog) to the nearest fence picked kitty up off of the road to put him in a more respectful resting place on the other side of the sidewalk. As I was picking him up this couple walks by and the woman says something like "oh my god, we should help him" to which her date/friend/husband replies "c'mon, don't ruin our evening". there really wasn't anything else to be done but yeah, nice attitude "pal".
The unfortunate cat was nowhere to be seen today, I only hope that his owner/s found him or at least know what happened.
