is a fascinating way to start- leaves it open to interpretation and guides you enough to make some educated guesses about what is coming
the remebering an action better than the man is used nice too
but id watch starting lines with weak words like And

in Part II
id switch the line about the electrics killing steam
to the front and just start the next like at "Engines ...
to keep with the pattern set in the 1st part
"I dont think your heart had hurt there" is a nice line too
but (quiet and calm) in parenthesese doesnt make sense i dont think you need them

finally
i love the lline about pulling on gods wings
but
i think the electrics should make a reappearance in this part
maybe include something like
"Did you forget (or remember) the electrics" at the beginning of Part III
to keep the continuity
and that great battle image of man versus electrics/time/invention going

and i dig the ending much also
