Once upon a midnight dreary...
as the rain and pain washed over my window and over my sheets
I faded in and out of what most call rest or sleep
for me it was nothing but flickering screens of the "waking" dream
and my subconscious screams
I began to wish for an answer, a release, and salvation
and slowly a vision came forth
the room was white as fresh snow, and as blank as is conceivably possible...
there in the center of the room sat I
in full lotus position
utterly nude, I sat
completely still, I sat
toning a continuous yet fluctuating aum
and as I did, a symbol appeared on the back of my bald skull
ENSO, Kanji for SUNYATA...in ink, or so it seemed
then slowly to the beat of my chanting,
tendrils and tentacles sprung forth from the symbol
inevitably engulfing my form in them, till I was black as pure and complete darkness
they stretched out past me into the room
moving so smooth and swift they seemed almost motionless
moving across the room as they did my body, like streaks of ink from the Sages brush
'till nothing I could see
and nothing it was that took me
the toning turning, as the room faded and shimmered out of existence
into a mere vibration, so consistent that I could no longer tell of or feel its former pulses
still ever more near did the vibrations flow, that they became a non-existent content
like the vacuum of space now known as plenum
Then suddenly I awoke
And wept that my dream was no longer reality
That I was still trapped here
And I still sigh from time to time at this seeming loss
And will until I is no more, and can no longer ignore the roar of the ravens NEVR MORE
