Judging from some astute comments and hints left on previous blogs, some of you figured this out before I did, but I finally realized what's missing. I want a baby. Maybe several babies. I guess I already knew this to some degree but being surrounded by babies and pregnant women last week really hit it home for me. The question is do I want them...

Thanks. Good luck with the drastic changes.

Kids are not a life change that you have to accept or not, they demand concessions and will tear your normal life asunder before you know its gone. That being said, if it something that your heart wants you will find away to juggle everything. I work a shload and my wife works and goes to school full time. Find an awesome/understanding babysitter if you don't find your Mr. Mom. Though I doubt you have trouble finding a man to chill at your pad with a kid. Once the wife is out of school I would love for her to get a bad ass job so I could stay home.

I'm home visiting the folks for Easter. Tomorrow will be the big extended family get together. It's been a while since I have seen most of them. And of course there are a half dozen new additions to the family courtesy of all my fertile cousins. I'm looking forward to it. Far more than I might have expected. Sometimes you need to be away from...

The usual, really, which suits me just fine. Catalina for a three day weekend with the wife (which is truly grand this year, as we barely see each other). Staying the hell away from work on the actual day and the day after. Not expecting or planning a party, but fine with the fact that people may want me to drink and celebrate with them on the actual day, though expecting nothing. Again, the usual. smile
otoki:
Well, I hope you can figure it out without anything drastic having to happen first.

For the last few months I've been struggling with feeling less than satisfied with my life. Like I need to make some serious changes. The thing is I don't really know what needs to change. I have a great job, in a great organization, doing the kind of work I dreamed of when I first decided to go to law school. My work gives me...

I freaking love that movie. It's all solid gold

Maybe you just need to blow off a little steam. Let out some of your restlessness.

Feeling restless doesn't have to mean that there is something wrong. In your twenties being restless is pretty common. Maybe you are just having a conditioned response to contentment. I've felt restless as I reached my thirties, even though my life was pretty good. I don't think it's anything to worry about. You're pretty awesome. At some point awesomeness like ours takes the reigns.

Gorgeous yes, but Stega, that's not me. tongue The shots are from the movie "Last Tango in Paris." I've sort of temporarily stepped away from putting myself in my profile shots the last couple of times. Hope all is well.

I am so glad this is a slow time of year at work. I think I'm coming down with something. If it is the same crap that has been going around my office lately, it is not going to be fun.

It's at times like this that I really wish I were part of a couple. I want someone to come take care of me. blackeyed

So I was at a small get together with some friends of a former SG member and the subject of SG came up. And this kind of creepy guy asked me if I ever thought about modeling here. I almost spit out my drink. I am way too shy and trust me...nobody here wants to see me naked. I wish I could remember the guy's...

I suppose it's about that time. Not a lot has been happening lately. Went home for Christmas and had a lovely time with my parents and saw some old friends. Work has been good, a little slow but steady enough that I don't get bored. Other than that not much to report.

Although I do have a date tonight. My first New Years Eve date...

Today one of the young girls in the office said "you remember what it was like when you were in your twenties". Um, yeah, I do. It really wasn't that long ago. surreal

Apparently they think I am really old. I hope I still know a few of them when they reach the venerable age of 30. tongue

I just want to say ... that it was seriously one of the nicest things anyone has done for me on this site when u actually thought abt me and asked your meditation friend abt techniques he uses to get rid of stress. Seriously. Im a mess and Im just sloppy when it comes to dealing with stress/pressure. Im not on aim a lot but hell, I'll look for him if he's game for helping me out .. my aim name is Code Rabies.

On the good side, at least these "girls" in your office treat u with respect much like they would treat an elder, ya know? Someone whos "older and wiser". Me being a young manager .. I never got any respect from the younger ppl OR the older ppl, because I wasnt "old enough" for the young ppl to respect and I wasnt "old enough" for the older ppl to respect as their boss. I was screwed, lol!

Hello everyone,

Not a lot going on lately. Working a little less, going out a little more. I think the work is easier. I've been having a good time but I'm tired. Been to a few parties, seen a few movies and eaten way too many dinners. Some of these have been actual dates, but mostly just out with friends. It's been fun but I...

Hi, im doing well, enjoying fantasy football this year, my first season, and am surprised by the whole favre/vikings thing! I've felt exactly the same as you do about love, and I am lucky to have found someone! It makes the world spin more smoothly, shall we say?

I was in Vancouver once, ages ago, it was a wonderful city. Back in my touring days, a group of guys who owned a restaraunt promoted our band, put us up, and we did some fun shows on Victoria Island. (They had funny acronym for themselves, the promoters; "POOF." ) More of and inside joke for them if I remember correctly; the Psychedelic Order of Old Farts!

I hope youve enjoyed my waxing nostalgic, for what its worth, it is my birthday after all! wink
Good luck to you in the matters of the heart, and in your travels. Its always nice to hear from you.

Well the only way I try one out there is if I get to buy you one too smile

My thanksgiving was nice. My friend and his wife invited me over for dinner. We ate, then played some PS3 for awhile. I'll probably be solo for Christmas this year though which sucks. Hope you had a nice thanksgiving as well smile

Tomorrow I will be in Philadelphia at a Law School fair. Doesn't that sound fun? Oh and I get to fill in at the last minute as a speaker. Yay.

This will be my first time in Philly and I will only be there for approximately 48 hours. What should I do while I am there?

Mini update: Trip to Philly relatively uneventful, had a...

School is going well academically. I feel like i'm ready to end this semester, though. I get irritated easily with the busy work teachers assign. I feel like college has too much redundency for me. God, don't even get me started on how much I hate that fracking musib class. I wish I had never taken it.

What's new with you?

Because I felt like I needed something to do besides work, something to keep my mind off things I can't change, I decided to take a poetry appreciation class. I used to love poetry. I thought it would be fun.

I hate this class. I apparently don't appreciate poetry as much as I thought I did. blackeyed

I feel like everyone around me wears a mask. Hiding who they really are. Trying to look like what they think I want. But never letting me see the real them.

That sucks.

Trust me, it's not that you come off as desperate, it's that people think that since there are boobs on this site, there's a chance they could touch them. It has everything to do with their lack of social skills and nothing to do with you.

Everyone wears masks, even with the people closest to them. It's a reality of the human condition. But when the masks slip, even only for a moment, it's all worthwhile.

I just want someone to cuddle with. Is that so wrong? frown

I have a bunch of reading to do for work. And a few tapes to watch. And I really don't want to do it. I just want to cuddle up on the couch with someone and watch old movies.

Instead I am sitting at home alone, drinking and feeling sorry for myself.

I am...

Hello dear.

Yeah, not the best circumstances re the coming back from Afghanistan thing. My idiocy is clearly not limited to domestic foibles. Thanks for your thoughts. The real pisser is that I really really miss the damn place. So much to be done . . . .

It's been ok being back though. I've been spending most of my time in La Crosse doing what I suppose people from La Crosse do best: drinking. I keep telling myself I'm gonna head out on vacation one of these days, but I've been pretty indecisive. It's like I need a reason to go somewhere or I won't go. Even though there is no reason for me to not go.

But La Crosse is a beautiful place so it could be worse. I've got my garden, but that's been pretty low-maintenance/high yield this year. (I think I've distributed organic tomatoes and squash to half the city.) I've got space if I want it, meddling family if I don't.

What's with the lack of cuddles? You don't have a pillow? wink
