Words
There are no bad words, only bad thoughts and feelings - George Carlin
I use strong words in these posts to accurately describe my thoughts on the subject I'm writing about. In the last post I called Michael Gove a cunt.
I know this word can often cause offence, especially to women.
I am merely using the word to most accurately describe my feelings about that particular individual.
As I see it the word cunt as we know it today has 2 received meanings.
1: a vulgar slang for a woman's vagina, most often used during extreme dirty talk whilst having or anticipating really vigourous sex, as opposed to gentle lovemaking. I see nothing wrong with its use in these circumstances if it provokes the desired raise in pleasure of all involved.
2: A term of abuse for a person (male or female) that is the lowest of the low. One for whom the traditional epithets such as Bastard, Shit, Scum etc just don't convey the venom and disgust with which you hold the person. Again, I see no problem with its use in this context either.
Obviously it is not great to have such angry feelings towards another human being and therefore doesn't show me as a very nice or calm/ forgiving person, but it is a truthful depiction of my feelings towards someone and therefore I am to be judged on my feelings rather than the words that I (with great deliberation) pick to portray those feelings as accurately as possible.
I will use many words that some may find offensive in my writings. I do not mean to cause offense with these words.
I don't mean to cause offense by the articulation of my feelings either, but this is at least something readers can take offense of, even if it is not meant by the author.
Judge me on my thoughts, feelings, emotions and actions. Not by the vocabulary with which I choose to describe them.
