Guess I'll be starting to do the journal thing. Not much to report atm, my life seems dictated by work and school. But last weekend I saw Star Trek and would like to know who has seen it that was a big fan of the original series. I loved TNG but never saw many original episodes.
I personally loved the new flick, but would like to hear what fans of the original series thought since that is likely the real test. I was able to get most of the references and jokes to the original, but I'm sure I missed some.
The only thing which felt odd (though not necessarily a bad thing) was how much better, newer, more high tech, etc the effects were compared to the original. I know it goes with the territory of progress and all, but it reminded me of how the Star Wars prequels all looked more high tech than episodes 4-6, even though one would think that as time went on the technology would get better.
Anyways, any thoughts to add?

but to respond to your comment,
i would move back to mom's . . .
now i definitely would.
i didn't before because there were 2 really mean cousins living there that made life miserable and i didn't need additional negativity. it is very far out in the suburbs away from everything i do - and now, my mom is moving back to taiwan! so i don't have the option of moving back to mom's now even if i wanted to.
