Here is the news:

Today I have a meeting with the woman in charge of people with degrees in the army which could lead to me being a teacher, or an officer, or getting another degree - all of which is good and fine with me.

The only down point is that I might have to agree to be in the army for longer.

My...

So after two days of showing up at the Kiriah they still haven't managed to get me to see who I'm suposed to see...

::sigh::

It looks like I'll be moving this week and it also looks like I'll soon be an intelligence OFFICER in the Israeli army, but everything is still up in the air.

Everyone keep your eyes crossed for me,
Jae
cthav:

I have an appointment this morning to speak with a high ranker in the Israeli equivalent of the security section of the pentagon.

Yesterday out of the 400 guys in a hanger I was one of 7 who didn't get chozen for combat.

When I went in to speak with the placement officer I happened to mention my computer skillz and he jumped all over...

The army has put my life on hold.

The day I enlisted they informed me that I am going to a base in the north of Israel to learn Hebrew. For the entire next 2 weeks I had completely no clue what was going on and had to rely on other English speakers and my well developed powers of perception to know what to do....

I've been in the army for two weeks solid. I was on guard duty. This is worse than it sounds, but I won't trouble you with the details. It gave me a lot of time to things about things anyways.

A lot of the data that I assimilated in college I'm having time to digest in the army - which is actually very awesome for...

Wow...I have had such a fucking depressing 2 months.

On the other hand I always wanted to go through a month of sheer hell to see if I could handle it...and basic training was that exactly...the sick thing is I'd do it over again if I had to...it does a body good.

As I had earlier anticipated I have started smoking in the army, but...

The same turning of mind is happening to me that happened to my good friend Eitan.

During his early days in the army he started getting into Existentialism more and so am I...in his case I think he honestl beleived that their is no Objective reality...in my case this isn't so.

I'm just reaching the same point in my thinking about Objectivity as I did...

The entire time I lived in Israel this army was in the back of my head where I flagrantly ignored it. Yes, it's true that I was aware that it's the toughest army in the world but I never really gave consideration to that as a factor in me joining it. This is all tied...

I survived week 2 of basic training in the Israeli army...and ran into an ex-grilfriend who way outranks me and aparently isn't all that bitter that I broke her heart 6 years ago.

What's wierd is that when I knew her she lived in Missori and wasn't an Israeli.

WTF?!?!??!?!
