I wanted to take a moment for everyone on here who has been supporting me and keeping me in their thoughts and prayers through my journey to become less of a medical mystery.
The trip to Cleveland Clinic yesterday went okay I suppose. For a three hour drive each way, a 2 hour consultantion with a very knowledgabe doctor, I'd say the trip was worth id for a few reasons:
The trip to Cleveland Clinic yesterday went okay I suppose. For a three hour drive each way, a 2 hour consultantion with a very knowledgabe doctor, I'd say the trip was worth id for a few reasons:
- This doctor is the only one who to the time to go over ALL of my medical records from EVERY doctor I've had n the past 2-3 years.
- She also took the time to go over every single medication that was prescribed to me by several different doctors. Which none of the others bothered to really look into and take into consideration all the drugs I was already on.
- I got a little bit of good news: She believes that my migrains are curable, or at least controllable.
- The shiity part, it's going to take some very serious medical intervention, hospital admission in a specialed migrain clinic out of state for 10 days to 3 weeks or possibly even more.
- Next, we went over each medication. She was able to tell me which ones I should stop immediately, all the while acknowledging the fact that it's impossible for to to stop them all at once without being admitted to a detox facility.
- She was able to prescribe a safer, therapeutic preventative that I have to build up tolderance to and start taking immediate. The woman (god bless her little heart) ever gave me a lovely perscription for oral steroids to help me through the initial withdrawal until I can get admitted.
- So you're probably wonder where the fuck.... Yeah. So, it's either Diamond Migrain Institute in Chicago, IL or another clinic that focuses more on adolescents in Ann Arbor, MI. I'm shooting for Chicago.
So long story short, I may be gone for awhile and not able to access the internet, but who knows. I'll try to keep updates posted as much as possible. By the way, since I'm probably going to be in the hospital for quite sometime, I could really use some reading material. Anyone who wants to support my sick ass, I'd really appreciate some of the books on My Wishlist if you feel so inclined.
Thannk you again for all of your suggestions and words of support. They are much appreciated.
REMINDER: My Hopeful's Set goes live in MR Sept. 6th!!!! Can't wait...

She found that acupuncture helped a lot, but the heroin was cheaper. Later on, she found Hatha Yoga helped her get control of them. The incidence rate went from whenever, to twice a month. Your profile says you like Yoga, so get serious about it and do it. I think you should also give acupuncture a try if the clinic can't help.
I think Pranayama would also be a big help. Unfortunately, it's nearly impossible to learn it from a book. Find a Hindu who's willing to teach you the proper techniques. A video would be next best.
Good luck in the clinic!
