I think the comments you got above are excellent. I don't have lots to add, but I'd just say everyone's erotic zones and pleasures are different, and don't let anyone push you into something that doesn't work for you. If you still want to try, start with a nice warm shower with your partner and try some oral/anal fun. It doesn't involve penetration but is still lots of fun. If you decide to go all the way: use lots of lubricant, try the side to back position, and try to relax the whole center of your body and feel open and accepting.
