Finally, after over a year of contractor and mechanic problems, build delays, and red tape, my girlfriend and I are ready to open our Bloody Rose Boutique in December.
Bloody Rose Boutique is an Austin, TX-based mobile boutique specializing in rock, punk, goth and alternative clothing and accessories for men and women. We are curating a unique collection of high-quality, exceptional imported and local designs for rockers, goths and punks that you can't get anywhere else in Austin, in our mobile boutique and at select popup events.
We started Bloody Rose Boutique because of our love of the punk, goth and alternative styles and designs and because it's difficult to find the clothes we loved in our new home of Austin, TX. With Bloody Rose Boutique we hope to bring a bit of Melrose, St. Marks and Camden Town, along with some European styling to Austin.
From finding the truck to building it out and getting all the papers in order, it was one challenge after another. Since we both have day jobs we hired someone to help find the truck and to do the initial demolition and reconstruction. We found the truck in February 2016 and the contractor promised it would be cleaned up and turned over to us in March. For one reason or another, we kept getting pushed back further and further in to the summer and it wasn't ready for us to take home until July.
After we got the truck back we found that there was a problem with the rebuilt engine and transmission that was installed, so we had to bring it back to the shop for more work. Then, the mechanic took our truck hostage because of a misunderstanding between him and the contractor. It wasn't until August that we got the truck back and got to work on cleaning up and prepping the exterior for paint and graphics, while scrubbing the interior clean and building out the retail space. Fast forward to November and we booked 2 events and the Bloody Rose Boutique was not back from the paint shop. We had to cancel one event and participated in the other creating a cool little shop in a tent.
Now, with the truck ready to roll, we are looking forward to opening the first weekend in December.
We really want to work with local, Austin-based designers to carry their original designs in our shop, and are currently working with Rockin' Bones Clothing. From Europe, we are carrying Queen of Darkness, Necessary Evil, Devil Fashion, ReStyle, Jawbreaker and the Rogue and the Wolf. From the US, we are carrying Sourpuss, Too Fast, Social Decay, Akumu Ink, Rat Baby and Local Boogeyman. Over the next few months we will be bringing on designs by other great labels.
If you are in the Austin-area stop by and say hello. You can find us by following at Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest.
