I am following in the illustrious footsteps of Kay_ and saying goodbye to SG. Not like I haven't met any wonderful people here and had some great conversation, but I can no longer give SG my money in good conscience. It is paticularly sad seeing as I started out here thinking I'd finally found a place that embodied my ideal regarding gender/sexual politics. See this...

I'm just not feelin' the SG love of late.

I've been debating about keeping my account for a while. I don't get many comments on my journal anymore, and at the end of the day it just seems silly to pay for one here when I can get it for free somewhere else. Don't get me wrong, I have met some cool people and had...

HUZZAH!

I just got back from my focus group presentation/ formal observation at work.
All I can say is the word "exceptional" was used many times, and my boss also said a lot of nice things about how I fit in at the dept. ect, ect. Anything like that coming from such an anal retentive, detail oriented person is a total compliment.

And now I...

I TRIPPED onto stage tonight and landed on my knees. Stupid long skirts. My entrance was supposed to open the show, so the first thing the audience saw was me nearly landing on my face.
luckily the actress i was in the scene with helped me play it off like i did it on purpouse.
but really, I've never actually fallen over on stage before....

That stinks... I'm sorry. I've fallen on stage a few times. Once I dropped my violin and the other time was during the Waltz of the Flowers in the Nutcracker. There wasn't any faking that... I was just an old klutz (well, 28...) in a sea of 16-18 year old girls... who didn't put enough rosin on her pointe shoes.
stolenhistories:
I'm sure you recovered nicely.

I can't believe you didn't use the "yar, its drivin me nuts" joke.

Oh man!
I'm so bummed!
my good friend Erin and I have been planning this trip to London and Prauge over April vacation for months. We've been dreaming and salivating over it, i was especially excited because i haven't been abroad in over 3 years.
Erin is a dancer by profession, and she just dropped me an email saying she can't go to prauge in...

you do need to read it for real. each time I read it, it gets better. especially when I was scouring it for tattoo-able quotes, then chasing them down in Hugo's original French in my french copy. I re-read it at least once a year.

When we first started chatting on here I was just outside of DC. I moved up here into Mercie's place just outside Baltimore this past August.

Not that you asked, but I guess I came up here for a change, but still wanting to stay close to DC. Well, as it turns out, a lot of my friends are now leaving the east coast in general, getting married, etc. Kind of sucks.

I have a few friends up here, but nobody that I'm really close with.
bredoteau:
Yeah, I've actually met some great new people off of here, too. But I just don't have the social network that I had when I was living in DC. And it's not that I can't go back down there any weekend, but since it's a bit of a hike now, I'm kind of a prick and pass on things that don't sound too hot.

Your parties sound pretty fucking cool. Hope you guys rock out.

Haha, actually, she's just learning, that's MY skateboard. But still, she's learning! (It turns me on sooooo much.)

I am sorry about your cousin! I hope you and your family are doing ok.

As for finding something not too Jesusy in the Bible - the problem (at least as far as the New Testament goes) is that once you get past the gospels, most of the rest was written by St Paul and frankly, given the choice, I'd rather have the Jesusy stuff!!!
