So, seeing as I've never used this space before to vent personal stuff I thought I might give it a go.
I've been with my girlfriend for almost a year and a half now, and last month we had our first real argument. She thought I was giving her a little too much attention. My calls woke her up once or twice (in my defense she sleeps 12 hours and I call her at noon) and I texted her a little much at her internship. I just graduated this past May with a B.A. in Psychology, and needless to say my job hunt has been less then fruitful. I find myself with a lot of free time on my hands and not many friends nearby to occupy it with, so I had a habit of spending it on her. We spoke about it and things have been fine since.
Today, however, she and I are having a similar conversation. To clarify, she recently spent the weekend with her mom and twin sister on vacation in Orlando. Seeing as her sister is leaving soon for her last year of college, I decided to leave her to it, not really texting, maybe having one call a day. She always sounded super excited and I didn't want to spoil her fun with the whole lot of boring nothing I have going on. Anyway, her return flight was last night, the last time I heard from her was a text around 6:10. Now, I know that all three of them HATE to fly and are absolutely panic-stricken when on a plane. Knowing that a FL to NY flight is around 3 hours, I decided to wait to hear from her. Around 10ish, her sister updated the words with friends game she and I had going on, so I knew they must have landed. I don't hear from her, not even a simple text "hey babe, I'm home now but super tired, I'll talk to you tomorrow." Figuring she was probably up telling her Dad about the trip, I wait until 11 pm to call, I leave a voice mail. Now, this morning, I still hear nothing from her. I go out, take my dog for an hour walk, and think around 11:30 am I'll try calling again. Still nothing. A little frustrated, I decide to call one more time at noon and leave a second voice mail. She calls me back around 10 minutes later, pissed off at me. Apparently my two morning calls woke her sister up twice and made her mad, so she gets angry with me. She says that "it worries her" how I can't go for a while without hearing from her, and how this is the same conversation we had last month, how I don't have to "freak out" when I don't hear from her.
Am I crazy for feeling a little neglected? I do a lot in our relationship, and the only thing I really ask for is attention.
Anyway, I thought this might be a safe place to vent my life and frustrations, she and I are gonna see each other later and talk in person. But if anyone would like to chime in and offer advice, I'd really appreciate it.
Cheers
