I went swimming this morning. It was actually quite fun.

Then this evening, Dmuff and I ate turkey burgers and laughed nervously at the fact that we are going to a game show taping tomorrow. It was totally his idea. He's dorky like that. I heart him.

Now, I'm procrastinating. I'm so burned out and don't feel like working on my thesis.

Did I mention...

I'm up and running again. smile

I ran 16.5 miles at Griffith Park on Sunday, and although the hills were probably more than I was ready for, it made me feel a lot better about the upcoming marathon. My thighs are sore, but I'm hoping tonight's run will help dissipate that. I'll try to take it easy. It's hard not to do too much too soon...

This past President's Day, Dmuff and I decided to go out for coffee. It had been rainy, and on our way down the concrete stairs to our parking garage, I slipped and fell on my ass. blackeyed

It hurt so much that I actually thought I was going to throw up for a minute or two. Luckily, I didn't break anything, but it was a pretty...

Wow, it's been such a harsh winter in so many places.

I, on the other hand, live in Los Angeles. This weekend looks to be sunny and in the mid-70s. eeek

Thanks, Sally. The good news is that power is back in my town. I can, it seems, go back home. The funny thing, of course, is that now I don't want to even despite the dramatics.

(We need a run challenge.)

We had our cable cut off this week. As far as priorites, it was lowest on the list, so it's gone.

I have to admit, I am actually enjoying it.

I'm sitting in the living room, across from my sleeping kitty. The blinds are open, exposing the grey sky and light drizzle. The natural light coming in is dull and calm. I'm listening to the...

I survived the GRE, the holidays, and a crumby cold. (See, this is why I think I'm Wolverine...)

It's is such a relief to have things back to "normal." Now it's time to get back to my thesis project, work and running.

My next marathon is the rescheduled inaugural Pasadena Marathon in March, so I have plenty of time to get back in shape. I...

GRE in 2 weeks. eeek Study, study, study. Sometimes I think I'm getting too old for this.

I suppose I will appreciate all my efforts if I actually get accepted into a PhD program. Otherwise, I may have to sulk for a bit before figuring out what to do next.

All this studying and application stuff has made me barely even notice that it is the...

Hey, if you can run marathons, you can put this GRE in it's place. Yeah, just don't let the holidays add too much hurt.

Oh, say, I've been getting back into running this last fall, pausing a bit these cold winter months until I can find some good warm running clothes. I run 10k pretty regularly and up to 14k or so. I know that's not even near a half marathon, but I was wondering what you think. Is it a stretch to go from there to marathon training? I mean, I'd imagine that working up to a 10k from scratch again is harder than upping that to real distances. Any advice?

Well, I hope you're doing well. And I never thanked you for that nice card you sent for my meager sponsorship. I couldn't believe it! You're maybe the most considerate person I know! I can't think of anyone else who would go to such lengths as mailing cards. smile

I'm done for real now. Be well and be good!

i still think it's so stupid that you have to the GRE again ... but good luck!!!

i did not know that bp was still alive, nobody cared about her current doings 2 months ago... strange.
