BRAND NEW MONITOR.
After being sick of used ones that die quickly, I decided to just get a new one. And.. since it'll be my screen for watching movies too, I splurged even more and got a nice 19". CRT, but hey, I like the option to change my resolution.
That was step one in the computer revamp. Step two is to reformat, partition, and install linux and windows. I plan to use linux mainly, but I like the back up for familiarity and running certain programs. Plus school. I don't understand why they insist on Windows, but they do. It would probably be the same either way, but depending on the case things might compile differently, so... meh. I'm still deciding on the linux flavour. Mandrake or Red Hat are tempting since this is my first install on a computer I care about (the longer it takes to get up and running the longer I have no contact with the outside world *squints out window*). But, ulrimately I'd like to try slackware or just plain old debian... something that's going to make sure I learn me something. Anyway, this will have to wait until after my camping trip.
Ah yes, camping! Well, not really camping, just tenting it outside a friends place in cottage country. Should be a good time, alls I need is time to prepare. I have pretty much all the equipment I need (tent, coolers, etc), but I still need to think about food. Seeing as how just going into a little nearby town isn't really an option for more than vegetables, I should make some stuff like granola, muffins, burgers, (or buy them, probably)... plus do the shopping for whatever, and for the obscene quantity of alcohol I plan to bring But this will all have to wait till Thursday, the last minute, since I work 9-9 for the next few days.
Oh hay look, my set! Nice to see it up

Price range indeed. I was lucky that a friend owed me a favour, and my parents were willing to chip in. Otherwise, that's my food/rent/tuition/books money!
