So much change and so little change...

It's been a bad year. The blog before this? Yeah, stress at work escalating and escalating.

And my mother died - mere days after she was here, which was a huge help, but this Mother's Day was my first without true female genetic forebear - as Grandma passed last summer.

Dad is doing surprisingly well.

So March was...

Good news: I got an award for being the top 'team mate' on my team. Basically, the most assists and such, which is always nice, because I love my teammates for the most part, and it's good to know.

Mediocre news: Most of them won't be my team mates anymore, but that's balanced out by the more useless co-workers on other teams being likely to...

So the shift bid process at work is starting.

Our 'ranking' period ended last Saturday, and here's really all that matters until I know my new schedule. (I was in the lower part of the top half, but this explains partly why that may be.)

My team was logged in and actually 'working' 15% more of the time than other teams.

And the people near...

Ah, how time flies.

I work in sales, though I don't want to be so limited.

December to now is just a blur, utter blur.

And I have so much to do in the next few weeks too.

Does life ever slow down?

Or is a hectic life, as long as the tasks are good things, a sign of a good life?

After all, celebrating...

So a friend just told me his iMac 24" was stolen... after his Wii and iPod had also been stolen.

I thought I lived in the ghe-toe... but he does... and his mother cried (not really).

Weird blog with friends only access still not quite fermented - check back soon.

I have actually never used a Mac in my life.

Avenir seems like an interesting program, but I always work better with a hard copy and an inkpen than anything else anyway.

Actually, I still don't see it - I never was a Scooby Doo fan.

And seriously - this body is ALWAYS on display.. My college friends actually got to the point where they would say, "Shit, who let D get naked again??"

So a lot happened in the past few months...

Work went from good to okay - sliding to bad - hopefully, soon to change back to good or better.

My grandmother passed away - which meant I headed back to WI, saw family and even some friends, and it was good.

Apparently, she called Father Joe a 'poor bastard' - got to love Pollacks -...

I have some more admissions / flaws / whatever.

I like to think I know a little about a lot - more the academic and intellectual than the practical and mechanical, but I do acquire a lot of tidbits in passing.

I also like to show that off - often in ways that are neither endearing nor well stated.

I can also be very cocksure...

I am so forgetful - I need a timer on the oven to pre-heat (no 'click' - silly cheap stove).

I also get distracted too easily - by shiny websites and things.

I started playing Guitar Hero II (medium only - I can get 5 stars on some songs, but I can't do hard - I rock gently) and it was several songs before I...

$355 back on a $700 deposit - and we rug doctor'd and everything!

Man, I didn't know I was going to get bent over so hard - I wouldn't have packed the lube away so quick!

Yeowch!

Bought the house, pained, packed, moved in, cleaned old apartment, went on holiday bender of epic proportions, finally got the house mostly unboxed last weekend, and now I can jump start my social life (such as it is - if you can call D & D groups and having a few intimate gatherings a social life - maybe just a diversion) which has been dormant...

Buying a house... started 8/17, ending soon?

Damn contractors / holiday is holding this up - frustrating

Hope to finalize this month though.

Went through hell and back on this - was offered a 5.25% at one point on half the loan, but just found out it will be 5.75 instead.

Still, a great deal, and a homeowner in less than 18 months after first...

So I had a busy month.

A trip to the ancestral home to see my mother - her chemo cocktail wasn't too rough on her when we were there, though she timed it around our visit, I believe.

My friend and I cooked 120 brats, 120 hamburgers, about a dozen or more hot dogs for the fireworks extravaganza - good stuff, the food and the...
