Im a little overdue for a poingant post about anything not relating to Wrestling411, but this weekend in Minnesota, something dawned on me that I feel wrestling fans need to address.

Kyle and I have harped constantly about fan support of college wrestling. In places like Iowa City, an off-day can mean 4,000 people. In New Brunswick, N.J., thats an all-time record.

Rutgers beat Rider...

I'm in the SGTwinCities group. Should add Minny to it.

I think Wrasslin' needs more girls in short skirts & fishnets to compete with Roller-Derby wink

Im cold, Im covered in snow and now, I will soon be parting from my owner for the last time. Ive had a good run, Ive had some interesting company. I was born in 2000 and dont really remember much about my first...

I guess this is the point in the year where I do the obligatory Out with 08 and in with 09 type of post. Well, all things considered I guess probably should, because 2008 was one of the most diverse.

Eight months in, I packed up and moved to Minnesota after taking a job with Minnesota coach J Robinsons new wrestling promotions company, Media Sports...

Damn ... been a while.

Been traveling, show's going well, it's cold in Minnesota, but I'm packing for Vegas for the weekend.

Schweet.

It is freezing here; so I am betting you want to die a little up there.

Last night, I was talking with my roommate about his recent conquest of the Chicago Marathon a week earlier. Joe and his brother Charlie, one of my college friends, both ran it. Charlie, a D-1 wrestler at 125 back in the day, finished in about 3:45 Joe finished the race, but that was his main goal.

Well, while Joe and I were sitting at Jake's...

It's been quite a long while since I posted an update on SG, but there's been a lot that's changed, so here's a quick rundown.

1. I celebrated my 29th birthday on Wednesday and spent it driving across the country -- 13 hours on the actual day.
2. I no longer live in Pennsylvania, I've relocated to a small suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota. It's...

Things are getting back to normal. My ceiling is fixed, I have a new dryer and I'm rediscovering some things I used to love about my past.

When I say "rediscovery," I mainly mean simply getting back into the flow of things in simple ways, things that made me happy in college, things that made me happy at work, things that made me happy in...

Where to begin?

It's been a whirlwind last couple of weeks, that's the only thing that's been certain as of late. I'm currently at my friend's folks place for Thanksgiving, a by-product of my job. This makes the third year in a row that I've been out to Horsham, Pa. (just outside of Philly) for Turkey Day.

Because I'm immersed in the world of collegiate...

Tech support ...

... I've been on hold for a combined two hours and three minutes with my hosting company.

Someone stole my domain, and there's no record of me ever owning www.mattakonline.com according to their records.

Complete flames to fly later.

Mutherfuckers.

The Toys R Us jingle was in my head this week.

On Wednesday, I went up to Brendee's for the weekly trivia session and unlike previous weeks, I played this one solo. With several normal compadres missing in action for one reason of another, I was taking a shot at typical winners "Bandito Incognito" -- a group of like 5-8 people that win each week...

I really want to update ...

... but I really don't feel like writing something down.

I've had a pseudo case of writers block, perhaps from really doing a lot of stories this year. I'm planning a slew of features and such for the site this year, but haven't been able to come up with any meaningful updates, but now that I've started writing this,...
