Ah, Cohen. When I think I've no use for him anymore, believing I've grown past where his melancholy wit can reach me, that's when I most need to put on I'm Your Man. By "Jazz Police" I'm his again.

Can't read him anymore, though. I just don't get much from his work when it's on the page. His words sung--that's something else.

I would generally agree with Estrada, that there's a history to negative humor; after all, the Germans coined a term for it long ago-- schadenfreude.
But in some areas, like the entertainment biz in America, it does seem like mean-spiritedness is on the rise.

My Thanksgiving was great. I spent it with my mom and brother who I hadn't seen in a year and a half. Yay! And it looks like I'll be going through Portland around the holidays sometime. I'm not sure of the exact day yet, but I'll let you know, and we have to meet up!!!
