I'm now in La Porte, TX. About....30 minutes from the hotel we were staying at in Houston.
Let's see.... I've been in La Porte about, fuck, I dunno. I'm so fucking bad with time....a week? I think.

Anyway, we're staying with a family. 20-somethings with a 3 (that's thwee) yr. old. If there was a guarantee that my kid would...

its amazing to me; after all this, not only physical evolution, but "cultural evolution".. that has apparantly taken place over these last few epochs.. most notible "achievment" among us, has been the square building structure, no?

i would dare you to find one Square in nature.
Your ancestors, as did mine, were at the peak of (not technology, but..) pure social stratosphere, when the height of material and building technology was to build nothing but circular structurs.. i have a feeling that the natural instinct towards objects of a round nature, appealed to us in such a deep-down and instinctual sense.. (what? teepees, african huts, buriel grounds and buriel rites), that the utterally real revolution from man against nature occured squarely with the advent of the square.. the disheartening, flavor-sucking trend that has, over a few millenia, evolved into, what now, suburbia? i can think of no other single reason that has killed off our "culture"s acceptance of medicinemen, shamistic healers, the works,

But far be it for me to say, or especially proclaim, anything wiser or more nurishable, than any other system of the 10% of our brain-matter that decides to make itself useful.. hey, maybe I could be so honored that the government might call me a Bolshevek.. or something equally as arbitrary yet politically useful,, either way, i digress, and cest la vie smile

I made it out ok.

I don't know where to start.

I'm in Houston, TX.
We drove out on wednesday.

The crew that was working the forklift was parking the forklift in eyeshot of my house. There was a crew of about 6-8 of them.
All were armed. I didn't feel like I could keep everyone safe anymore and so it was time to go....

Letter to Sara Bonaly I knew in New Orleans in 1990/1991.

Dear Sara,

You had a reading done for me and wrote the results in a journal you gave me.
That journal is police evidence and lost to me now.
I remember the jist of it was my totem is bear and I was in the south needing to reach north.
I tried reaching north...

I finally replaced my dead Rio CD/MP3-CD player.
I just broke down and got an iPod mini.
I was strangely inspired by Aries' post about her and her beau's new phones. It was a late night impulse buy.
I was worried the whole time because I kinda had the wrong address on my purchase order. Luckily the UPS guy knows me.
Well all of...

I've got to do something to my hair.
Maybe I'll do something to the beard too as well.

I've only been giving myself the one haircut for the past ....12-13 years. (Clean shaven or 1/8" fuzzcut)
So I know it's gonna look bad.
desmodius:
you could do what i do. shaved head and a goat. nah. actually. everybodies doing that now....lol never mind... i remember when i started to shave my head like twelve years ago it wasn't a fashion thing. now everybody does it. i was original dammit...lol emphasis on the was. its funny. everyone wants to know if i'm going bald yet and i don't know... i never let it get long enough to find out...lol. man this new piercing is great but it's tickling the inside of my nase...
whatever you do. do what you wanna do, you can't go wrong. and if someone don't like it. screw em. well not literally... unless you like em...lol

So this morning I learned a friend died.

She had been suffering with cancer for a while and she just went to sleep and didn't wake up.
I'm feeling more mad than sad about this. But maybe that's just how I channel my depression.

So I was thinking. My friend's partner of 12 years couldn't sign to have her ashes cremated. She has to wait...

I don't want to work today.
I just want to be somewhere eating a good meal or people-watching.

Yeah, I know the feeling, but I think that's just one of those things that happens to us guys who are in their thirties! tongue
