What's new you ask? Well...

I got a job. I teach boot camp at 6am every weekday morning. I'm making it as Crossfitty as I can with no equipment.

I signed up to get two Olympic lifting certifications this month. First up is the USA Weightlifting level 1 coach course. Then I'm flying down to SoCal take the Crossfit Olympic lifting cert with Mike Burgener....

I'm trying to get a job!

If you are down here for longer than just the cert and have time, come train with us at Valley Crossfit! When's the O-lifting cert?

Honestly, I have no idea how my life made sense before I started listening to Morrissey.

Yeah, Morrissey is great. You also like The Smiths?
xsntt:
I find myself fluctuating between listening to Morrissey's solo stuff and the Smiths and trying to decide what I like more. On the whole, I like how diverse and intense the Morrissey solo work is. However, I think there is something to be said for what Johnny Marr added. There are great guitar parts in Morrissey's solo stuff, but I feel like having that slight creative dissonance that was in the Smiths was a good thing. What do you think?

That clean n' jerk was fucking awesome! I did something like that the other day, only it involved a half-empty keg and public drunkenness.
adriansk:
Great form on your cleans. I like to get my hips even lower for most explosion. Really good stuff Olivia.

Yesterday I ate a vegan croissant (not bad!) from the vegan bakesale in SF. There were rescued bunnies there. Bunnies may eat their own shit and be dumb as a sack of rocks but they are very cute and extremely soft. Later I had soy froyo.

Before my eat-a-thon I went to a kettlebell workshop where I learned the basics of the RKC method. Much...

I read it, but Hell, I have to admit I love the the picture too. Why does no one read this shit though?! That is what I wonder about...I just wrote a blog about that very fact today. I may be an exception to the rule, but I go on here to genuinely have real human interactions. Seeing people naked I think goes hand in hand with talking to them informally and without pretense. What better way to be a natural person?

Also, I love rabbits. Not all of them are dumb as a bag of rocks. I had a huge lop-ear when I was a kid. My real name is Robert, and I didn't name the rabbit, but his name was Rabbert, after me. He was a smarty and also huge. Unlike most scared little rabbits, he was confident and terrified cats that would wonder into the backyard. I am always sad that people don't see what great pets they are. When I volunteer at the animal shelter in my home town, there is a special section for rabbits which a few people specialize in. I always try to encourage people to try one out. They sure are easy to clean up after, and they are cleaner and less trouble than cats most of the time. If you are catless now and have considered a pet, then maybe rabbit ownership is for you! I think it is even better if you have a backyard though, or some place outdoors for them to go.

I've been day dreaming about Hawaii lately.
xsntt:
Oh God, I am going to have to go there next year for my birthday. I haven't been since the 80s, if you can believe it, and for someone from the Bay Area (I live in Alameda) that is ridiculous I think. I am going in January for my birthday and maybe I will finally get to surf there again!! I agree though about it being paradise. Did you know that the ancient Tahitians (who lived in Tahiti, for fucks sake) named Hawai'i "Road to Paradise" in Old Polynesian because they thought it was the most magnificent place THEY had ever been...and they were comparing it to Tahiti. Fuck, I think that is saying something.

Thanks for all your congratulations!! Our time last week was 1:15 but we stopped to take pictures and a lot of rests. Kelly and I plan to swim it again in late November (brr) and this time we'll probably care about our time. The Alcatraz high has kinda worn off and I really need to have another goal. In the mean time, two important things...

I am proud of you for being able to do the Alcatraz swim. I wanted to do that when I was on the Swim Team in high school, but never got around to it. I must admit I am pretty amazed by your athleticism.
