Yeah, who needs faces when you've got boobs? Oh, wait ...
trocc:
i think you could make it there in plenty of time. 9:30 show with two opening bands... here's the breakdown from the Bottle's site:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
TUE. 11/14/06 (9:30pm; $10)
Witchcraft (Sweden)
Danava
Velcro Lewis & His 100 Proof Band

Swedish dark rock outfit WITCHCRAFT make their Chicago debut here. They'll be playing material from their latest Rise Above release Firewood, one that thoroughly evokes a wide range of underground sounds from decades past. In a review of the record, Dusted exclaimed, "Fuck, can these guys play" and we've been told that those same chops extend to the stage as well. Epic metal ensemble DANAVA will play second, supporting their burning Kemado debut, an album that, according to The Stranger, is akin to DAVID BOWIE seducing BLACK SABBATH, if the relationship were consummated "in a waterbed of liquid LSD."

Ohhhh! I thought it was a sarcastic thanks for my comment pertaining to the Oakland sweep, in which I felt bad because it was supposed to be more playful than 'salt-in-wound'y. Guilt absolved!
trocc:

yr text made me laugh - glad to see you still got the eye for the ladies even on an early morning bus ride. biggrin

The Friday game is at night, so if you have the time (don't spend a lot of time in Newark, there's really nothing to do), do some touristy things during the day. Maybe check out Central Park, Midtown, all of that stuff. Then, take the subway up to the game...grab a beer in one of the dive sports bars around the stadium (again, there isn't a whole lot going on around Yankee stadium besides the game). The area used to be pretty sketchy, but it's safe now--but be prepared to get shit if you're wearing your vintage Frank Thomas ChiSox shirt. After the game, you might want to head back to sleep, or go downtown Manhattan for drinks (more on that below).

Since the Saturday game is during the day, you should take the train afterward to Greenwich Village (the West Village), grab a beer and get dinner, then walk across town to the East Village and the Lower East Side (buy a map, and get a subway map for free at any subway kiosk!!), which is bar-central. It's a great area to bar-hop in, although there are a lot of people doing the same thing, so it can get pretty crowded. Double Happiness is a good place to start(I tend not to go out on saturdays in general because of the crowds, but this place is pretty big). It's on Mott St, right near Chinatown and Little Italy, on the lower East Side, which is probably your best area for finding a cool place to hang out.

Hopefully this is helpful. Again:
Midtown=touristy stuff, nice and clean, museums, Central Park, Times Square (worth seeing the neon at night)
Lower East Side/West Village/East Village=bars, clubs, CBGBs, great pizza (John's pizza on Bleeker[Lower East Side/Little Italy] is often called the best in the country)

Shit, that was longwinded. Basically, there is a lot to do.

If the sox can get one more pitcher (or if Lester keeps it up) I'd agree with you. I'm worried that the Tigers are going to be the White Sox of this year (mostly because I keep thinking they're going to fall apart).
