Life is good.
I accepted the magazine's offer. Of course I did - not doing so would've made me the dumbest man ever to breathe. I'll know in a few weeks whether I'm the new editor or not, 'til then I'm still working my crappy job and staying enrolled in four courses for first semester '09.
I've started ripping all my CDs onto my new computer so I can load them on the iPod again. Ever since my old computer died I've been wall-charging it so I don't lose any music and I finally got tired of listening to the same old shit and not being able to add new stuff. Last week I finally bought another hard drive, so it's back to ripping CDs. It's the most fucking tedious task ever, but at the end of it I'll be extremely glad I went through it. I'm up to the letter C in my punk/hardcore racks; currently doing Chuck Ragan's solo disc, then it's my rock pile and then metal.
I'm working quite a bit this week, so I'll have a bit more cash behind me which is nice. Even nicer is the fact that I finally got a new bankcard so I can access my money outside bank hours again! I had two weekends without that little luxury and it sucked really, really hard.
Here's some preview mag content.
Top Ten Albums of 2008
1. The Loved Ones - Build & Burn (Fat Wreck Chords)
Melodic punk at its finest and intertwined with Americana influences like blues and folk – this is a start-to-finish brilliant disc from a band that’s already proven themselves to be among the best in their genre. Catchy, heartfelt perfection.
2. My Disco – Paradise (Numerical Thief)
3. The Gaslight Anthem – The ’59 Sound (Side One Dummy)
4. Baseball – Animal Kingdom (Stomp)
5. Lau Nau – Nukkuu (Locust Music)
6. Extortion – Sick (Deep Six)
7. US Christmas – Eat The Low Dogs (Neurot)
8. Robotosaurus – Manhater (Skull & Bones)
9. …Who Calls So Loud – Self-Titled double 10” (Sorry Records/Adagio 830)
10. In Sepia – Self-Titled EP (Independent)
This loneliness thing is finally starting to get to me.
