sigh. im really starting to hate my job
Having one of those days... Im really not sure how much more I'm going to last. Being reprimanded for doing exactly what I'm told to do because my management is hypocritical. Because they have to be right 100% of the time. Because they have to feel superior by putting others down. Because they care more about gouging someone for every penny they have instead of taking care of the customer needs. When I get pulled Into the office on a weekly basis because I'm doing exactly what they told me to do last week, and now they want something else. When they ask me what can I do to improve myself and I answer with "whatever you tell me to do in the moment you tell me to do it" and that is classified as a BAD answer and not what they want to hear. Really? You want some bull crap about how I'm going to try harder, I stead of just me asking you what exactly you want me to do?
I swear I really don't think I'm going to last much longer. They tell me that I shouldn't think so highly of myself because nobody is irreplaceable and they can always hire someone to do my job, then turn around and say they don't want to lose me because I'm a valuable part of the team. No, I'm not part of some family here. I'm a cog in a machine. I can be replaced at any time. As long as I have a job and keep getting paychecks I'll swallow my pride until something better comes along or its time to move.
Just biding my time
To be perfectly honest its not the company as a whole. Its my boss and the way SHE runs things. Because we are the number one store in the country for sales, she is willing to lie to customers to make a sale. "Oh you want this computer but don't want to buy antivirus with it or have us set it up? Let me go check out back" 3 minutes in the back having a conversation later... "Looks like we don't have it in stock, you should order it online at home instead".... We are actually TAUGHT to lie to them that we don't have a computer if they don't want to buy anything with it. Because we can sell it to someone else and make more money off it. She constantly changes what " the company policy and expectations are" just to make more money. She gouges little old ladies and has taken 500$ to fix a 10 year old laptop, then say it can't be done and sell them a new one with 300$ worth if work on it anyways.... It makes me sick. But it gives me a paycheck. I just need to bide my time until I can escape
