So, I have just had my Birthday and for the first time in who knows how long I did not have a drink to celebrate, despite buying a bottle of Sailor Jerry's.
I have now been sober for 8 weeks and I am feeling pretty good about that.
I got to spend the day with some close friends and my Dad and they were all drinking but I didn't feel any pressure to join them, I was just lucky to enjoy their company and I am feeling pretty happy.
The only thing I wish is that I could have seen the girl, but alas that was not to be and probably for the best any way. She was the very first person to text me a happy birthday message and I have mixed feelings about that but mostly I am happy that she was thinking of me.
I was lucky that it was such a lovely day, we threw the frisbee and football around, listened to music, ate kids party food and played Jenga, which was quite an epic battle through the night.
My first week of leave has slipped away quietly and I have been enjoying having time to relax. I have been training twice a day for the last week (which I plan to do for the rest of my holidays) and with eating healthier and not drinking alcohol or soft drinks I am feeling great.
My mantra for the holidays is to get my self sorted.

So good to see dude, sounds like you've really got a handle on shit Giving up alcohol last year for a while was one of the best things I ever did...made me realise I can enjoy peoples company without having to get shitfaced!!!! I enjoy a few drinks still hehehe but I don't drink any where near as often, or as much in one sitting!!! Don't miss those alcohol blues I get afterwards either.
