Hello all

Not much new to report. King Arthur's still being panned by the critics, which is very depressing, and it is affecting audience numbers frown which is a real shame, cos audiences are now really enjoying the show. Come and see it if you're in town. tell your friends. I'll buy you a drink... tickets from www.arcolatheatre.com

My beloved, (who's the director) is understandably very...

Milady, where the fuck are you?wink

Hope everything is ok mate. happy New year
silveronthetree:
They rejected you? And you didn`t let us see the pics?

Shame on youwink

Rejection is horrible at the best of times. Did they give any good reason or nothing?

Ifv you do go, an e-mail would be nice.

Keep well

Ugh. horrible, knackering times.

We lost one of our cast on saturday, 4 days before we opened. Bastard got a big film role and just upped and left us in the shit. we spent all saturday phoning everyone we've ever worked with and actually our new actor is great, picking everything up really fast and well, but it's been a frightening nightmare. we've all been...

Boooo! That's it, they are on my LIST! Rejecting your set...bah! Ok so I need kids, a plane ticket (actually tickets since I appear to need multiple children) and tickets to Father Christmas. I do believe I better get busy!
midwinter:
Sounds like a rather pissy time of it, sis. Hope you're bearing up okay - feel free to vent any time, and I shall listen!

Now, tell me more about this show you're working on. What is it and where will one be able to see it?

hello my daaahlings!

(I've been hanging out with actors... this lot really do say dahling, and it's catching!)

so, I finally pulled my finger out and finished editing my first set (and yes, I'm aware that the phrase 'pulling my finger out' is maybe not the best choice... it's not that kind of set) It's in the post and on its way to SG headquarters....

Tis true. Perhaps that explains the strangeness she feels compelled to dump on us. Who ARE mother nature's children anyways?

Oh god! suddenly it's King Arthur week 3, Father Christmas week 2, and I might be doing panto in Hereford next. Just imagine: three weeks of Dick Whittington, in November, in a town I'm not sure where is (somewhere near the edge of Wales?) Actually I'd love to do it, rats, cats, dames, comedy baddies. this is the stuff of dreams biggrin

shows are like buses....

Well... I'm glad to hear I seem more prepared than I actually am!!
I'm actually using the 'leave and hope' mentality.

I do believe you sent me a welcome boquet when I first joined SG a while ago (a computerised one) although admittedly I've changed my profile pic since then!

so, week one of rehearsals for King Arthur gone already! Eek. got lots done, many balls got rolling (that sounds strange...) including starting work on my barbarian war dance, but I'm terrified by how soon it will be over.

also coming up I have lots of animation teaching work, which is cool but ill-timed, and I've just been asked to choreograph the christmas show for...

Sing for us, Louie tongue

Sounds like you're having a busy time of it just now. Hope you come back to say hello soon!
midwinter:
I'm well, sis. I hope you're not over-working yourself though! You clearly have too much to give to burn yourself out now! tongue

It should be 'finished' next entry. Or at least as finished as it's going to get on here. When it's done properly you can see the manuscript wink

Woohoo! I love research time!

Spent a merry afternoon in the Ralph Vaughan Williams memorial library at the English Folk Dance and Song Society; the secret sounce of all my power, and as ever they came up with the goods.

The goods, in this case, being:

1) the comforting realisation that NOBODY knows anything about the dark ages,
2) some info on a weird dance done...

I guess it's something to do with the 'Winter' family tree - we're prone to wander. But now I'm back, hopefully regular correspondence can be resumed biggrin

Flat is nice, the town is good (though grey) and everything else is generally going my way. Which is rather wonderful. I'm yet to check out that pastie shop yet - I generally shy away from anything remotely vegetable in its make-up, as I'm something of a confirmed carnivore. surreal

How's things anyway, dear? Everything going well?

hello all. I feel like a special guest appearance these days, sorry. Oh well, my beloved's away all next week so, fickle hussy that I am, I'd imagine I'll have a bit more SG time tongue

What have I been doing?... So many dull jobs, so little time...

That said, my latest dull job is actually quite fun, or at least funny... I'm now an official...

Sadly, that's pretty much all it takes. Horses made out of garden tools and documentary television.

I have decided that my tastes are ....um....discerning versus deathly dull. smile
silveronthetree:
dalston? I love Dalston, such a melting pot of culture and you can pretty much find anything you want for under a quid smile

Cool, you never know, I might just be up for that. Its near my work too smile

Yes spiders are so weird, they must have hopped a ride on a spaceship, rather like rats on ships smile

You never replied to my Dumas post. I finished the Count of Monte Cristo and absolutely loved it.

Would you recommend anything else by him?

ooooh dear, it's been ages again... I was doing so well too. curse real life!

So... I went to Edinburgh for the fest, it was wonderful as ever, I once again want to run away and join the circus *sigh* if you ever get the chance, you must all go and see No Fit State Circus. Utterly mindblowing and beautiful. There seemed to be somthing...

Yay! I've got through stage one! I've got a shiny new Suicide Girl profile to fill in biggrin

So now, a major consideration, which is this: I don't think I can keep 'MiladydeWinter' as my name (it's too long) there's already a Wynter, so I'm guessing 'Winter' might be too close, 'Milady' (says my best beloved) might just sound like I think I'm posh for those...

Really?!?!?! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Though with all the crossed tentacles and such there should never have been any doubt!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!! (O.K, that is a blatant abuse of exclaimation points but dang it this deserves it!)

Now wait, vegetarian jelly beans? So, do jelly beans in the U.K traditionally contain...meat?
midwinter:
Consider appendages crossed for you, sis. Although I have concerns that if you get accepted you'll change your name, and I shan't be your online brother anymore frown

Alas, I don't know any animators. Hope someone turns up for you soon though. How are things anyway? I've not had a good update from you since before your birthday! biggrin

OK. it's not my birthday any more. but I did manage to eke it out over the course of about a week, which was, you must admit, impressive.

so now I'm back, broke and jobhunting in the ridiculous sweltering heat. today I had a second round interview for a company which does absurdly luxury giftwrapping. they asked us to make up stories relating to individual...
