Still ill. Haven't left the house since I got back from Yurp--hell, barely left the couch. Lonely as all get out, and it hurts when I cough.

I'm home after awesome shows in London (3 encores!!) and throughout Germany and Switzerland. Happy times. But: home now and lonely times. Miss my ex.

Great successes seem so shallow when there isn't someone to share it with.

I'm on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg, porn capital of Germany.
rabbiteleven:
My knowledge of German porn is limited at best. But they DO have a reputation. So being in their porn capital must be akin to being in the weird food capital of Japan.
elodie:
Don't get peed on.... unless you want to.

My ex got a shitty review for a piece and it makes me feel wickedly good, and that makes me feel terrible since it was me that dumped her in the first place, and yet I always turn it around so that, inexplicably, I feel like the one that's been left, and here I am enjoying her misstep and I'm a terrible person and I...

The Magnetic Fields asked me to tour with them! But I can't do it! I'm booked! It would've been my dream tour. AAARGH.

Bummer, however that must be quite wonderful to have been asked.
heatherann:
Hell, yes, that would've been amazing. It's the thought that counts? Or something? smile

Going out to see Avatar with a bunch of people. It's good to have a cadre of friends, but I still wish I had a got-dang girlfriend.
jamila:
Girlfriends are overrated. So I hear?

I quit coffee for a few months in 2009. I just didn't want to be dependent on something the way I am on caffeine--on tour, I recon multiple coffee venues virtually the moment I arrive in a new town.

The experiment ended when I flew to Berlin; I realized that no stoic corner of my heart would force me to do a European tour sans...

I quit coffee cold turkey upon getting fired from a coffee house in Pittsburgh in like '93 or something. I drink less than 6 cups of coffee a year but it's pretty much only when I'm in Europe. It's very, very effective that way.
freckle:
I suppose you are not so welcome at Starbucks which may limit your options in certain locations (not Europe).

I like the songs I write in the morning, then hate them by evening, then re-like them when morning comes again.

You'll have to perform them at Senior Centers.
erica:
I feel that way about my photography, except it's hours instead of mornings and evenings.

Oh, and I heard one of your songs in a Guitar Center in the valley the other day.

Hee Hee. Hope you are collecting your blog posts for future album material. Or therapy. Or therapy AND future album material. And really, 5:46 am? damn that's early. Look forward to seeing your next gig. Although strangely, I enjoy going to your shows that aren't in MN. Go figure.
halfjack:
Where'd you get the helmet?
