Today is my first day of class. I had Spanish this morning at 11am and got scared shitless by the fact that everyone seems to be a native or heritage speaker. frown We'll see if this lasts...) In about 20 minutes I have my Politics of Latin America discussion...

I'm super busy with work at the Gender Equity Resource Center as well as facilitating the Queer...

- Sorry about Spanish Class: When you start telling stories about what you did this past summer I'm sure most of them will STFU! mad

- Wow you got a house in your 2nd year? You lucky dawg! I didn't move out of the dorms 'til my 3rd year!

- Open relationship? Nothing wrong w/ that when you want to enjoy your college experience. If it's meant to be monogamous, it will be when and if you're ready for it...and with the right person (not necessarily who you're with now, that is). Life is what you make it and lately you've been making good ones, so I'm psyched for you Morgy!

- I'm tired and stressed as well...it's a friggin' pain trying to jump-start my life again after loosing a shitload this year. I have my fingers crossed for you to have a kick-ass semester. It's great to hear from you

Its been a crazy couple of weeks.

I'll tell ya'll what i remember.

First of all, i updated my website. Only the portrait section, though and its only teh first 6 photos: http://www.nakedeyephotography.com/portraitgallery.html

A couple of nights ago I went to this trashy chinese food place with my mom. Its pretty much a bar and reminded me of a crappy british pub (complete with those...

So I crashed a big Microsoft party with my brother and sister in law tonight. I ate yummy free food and drank free drinks. We sailed to the party and back.

And to top off this great night, I came home to see that I'm on Modblog!

Morgy...you have such a great presense in the ModBlog site. You're such a kind soul & you're an inspiration to many using your summer to help so many others. Bless your heart! As far as the Microsoft Party: I'm jealous as a heart attack...even though their products constantly need to be patched frown

Hola Companeros!

Hey ya'll! I'm back in Seattle! My trip back was relatively uneventful (I barely made the plane at LAX) and I got into bed around 1am on Tuesday morning. It's good to be home and have access to a hot shower and mattress for the first time in a week!

I went to a meeting at UniTierra on Thursday night. The meeting was...

- Sometimes it amazes me how you can do so much in such a small period of time. You obviously put your your heart and soul into the activities you were involved with down there..and they were extremely lucky to have had you and your classmates.

- I like that area of the country (Seattle, that is...specifically west across the sound in Bremerton since I have relatives there smile )...good Scandinavian cafes in Ballard...and the time I got completely shitfaced in Dubliner? I forgot the spelling...all I remember is the patch of road w/ my puke all over (but I didn't mess up my shoes biggrin )

Welcome back. smile

T&S were adorable live. Though I missed the first 40 minutes of their show due to them not having an opening band. I am a little in love with them right now. And yes, their new album is awesome, they played all their new songs. I need to get it.

Hola Companeros!

So the past couple of days I was in Palenque, a place about a 5 hour bus drive north of San Cristobal in the jungles of Chiapas. I went with my friend Liz and we arrived on Monday afternoon and checked into a little hotel in a town called El Panchan on the outskirts of the national park. Monday afternoon we went into...

Hola Companeros!

This week was my last week of my study abroad program. I made some amazing friends and learned some amazing things and I'm sure I'll always remember my 6 weeks with the Mexico Solidarity Network. It was really awesome to get the perspectives of 15 other socially aware, socially active people from all across the country. I think we all taught each other...

I'm just in awe Morgy: You've done so much this summer. All I've done so far was work, cert review classes (for techs), and sneaked in a few brews here and there. You make me want to go back to college full-time I swear *cries*

Hola Companeros!

Sorry this update is getting to ya'll so long after I said it would. The
internet was out all week in Oventic and I didn't go back into San
Cristobal until Sunday morning(I came into town in the back of a pickup
truck!). But the following is what I would have sent you on Saturday (and
it's long because it's catching ya'll up...

- you obviously seen so much in your short time there. I really feel for the displaced Zapatistas even though I don't completely understand the conflict, but I'll read up on it tonight for my own self-knowledge

- you're doing the ladies of Oventic a service by helping them w/ the photographic aspect of their upcoming merchant website. That's awesome...

- Avocado, lime, and salsa on a roll? I dunno!, but growing up, L.F. and I ate tons of chicharron: We'd have it in a plastic bag and put in vinegar to add "zest."

Have a continued great time there Morgy...

Hola Companeros!

Where to begin.

I'm half way through my study abroad programI can't believe how fast it's gone and at the same time how long it feels like I've been here. As a friend in the program said, here in Chiapas we have long days and short weeks

For my final project I'm taking a series of portraits of the people I've met while...

Oventic is AMAZING. The people are friendly, the little kids are always
trying to get you to come play, the food is FANTASTIC and the weather is
lovely. Even though it's the rainy season here, it's still really
pleasant. It usually rains around 2 or 3 in the afternoon, but before
that it's sunny and warm and beautiful. The days go really fast because
they...

- Ohh Morgy: Take pictures of the food. We wanna see!!!!

- When it comes to your teenage group, remember that in the end, YOU'RE the leader of the pack, not Zacharias. If he has a problem w/ that, you can call upon the lot of us on "The Forum" to drive down in a bunch of Harleys...j/k, but it would be funny, huh?

- Make sure to wear the super-duper thick rubber gloves and a mask when you're cleaning el bano...yuck!

Morgy...so far it looks as if you're having a splendid time. I really enjoyed the story w/ Rafael and the other story about the little girl who said hasta luego smile

You know, I honestly thought you were going to Mexico to do volunteer work. I had no idea you were getting an education too! Man, I just didn't realize, but now that I do it's grand...and I'm jealous!!! hehe

Hola Companeros!

I'll be in Mexico from June 2nd (tomorrow!) to August 2nd. I will have internet access, but not daily. I don't know if I'm going to bother updating my various journals, either- If you want updates you should've let me know so I could have added you to the mailing list smile

Anyways, see ya'll in August!
tos:
I did Morgy! I commented a few blogs ago that I wanted to be part of your blog frown I think I PMed you in "The Forum" too about it. Regardless, I'm totally psyched for you and this massive trip you're just starting...
