So, one of my oldest friends (P) tried to commit suicide the other day. He went out bought a Beretta and was planning to drive somewhere secluded and blow his brains out. Thankfully another friend (his roomate, G) was there and noticed something was up when my friend, P, left and told my other friend to pass on a couple letters. Long story short, somehow my friend got in contact with the police after my friend left and they were able to intercept P before anything bad could happen and thankfully P just calmly gave the police his gun and was then taken into custody (and apparently the Police were verrry good, calm and kind to P in talking him out of what he wanted to do.) Plus one for the cops!
Apparently, my friend P had just broken up with his girl after cheating on her and telling her about it and this kinda initiated a downward spiral, culminating in his plan. He felt that he'd never been happy and would probably never be happy in the future and figured that he best end it now than live a life bereft of happiness. I'm glad my friend G saved his life, but now, he's scared of P and is moving out of the apartment and won't visit if P is there or go by himself. G for some reason thought that P was going to off him too (citing Virginia tech and the "you never know excuse"). I'm grateful to my friend G for helping save P's life, but i'm really pissed that he's basically turning his back on over 12 years friendship over this. Especially when P needs all the help and friendship he can get right now. I suppose i should wait to hear G's version of the story before passing judgment but i feel it's pretty cold what he did.
Overall, i'm pretty upset about this right now though totally glad P was stopped before he could finish.

The benefit went really well. It was a great time with some great artists involved. Hopefully I'll have pictures to update with either today or tomorrow. I'll put the artists links up too. They were all amazing.
