So anyway...

Since I last said anything here (which was, like, a year ago) a bunch of stuff has happened. I left that job that was pissing me off at the end of last June. I spent October through January working in a French language environment, which was a little weird. I went houseboating last summer. It was much drinking on a boat in a...

Merry Christmas! I'm overbooked.

It's nice that people think I'm good at things. It's actually really cool to be appreciated, but now I think my skills are a little too much in demand. I may end up assistant-producing one show (whatever the hell that entails) and stage managing another during what I know will be a busy time at work. And, of course, there'll be...

Given that I've yet to be ill, I'd say it is cutting back. And I've been assured that time aging in the bottle, rather than the casket, is less useful.
danny_g:
You imply that this is somehow by choice.

Well, that was weird.

Last night I went to one of the usual house parties at Mr. B's house. Now, normally everyone at these things knows me and my husband is aware that, while I may be a shameless flirt, it's not actually going anywhere. Last night, Mr. B. suggested that I show this new guy my nipple piercings and he'd show me his chiseled...

DAMMIT! That was MY Tupperware! I brought tarts from work! Now they'll have to be destroyed.

To say the least.

Got my nipples pierced with gold barbells. The gold should prevent rejection. I kind of feel like a pirate with all this gold jewellery, though.

Not so much "worrying" as "plotting an appropriate response for 1-4 conspirators."

But you say it's not necessary. So that's good.
danny_g:
Not feelin' the relevance on that one.

First Triathlon update:
My first race was on June 3rd. It was wee - 500 m swim, 16 km bike, 3 km run. I learned that thou shalt not race is cotton shorts. You're never really dry in a triathlon, and wet cotton shorts lead to terrible chaffing. The insides of my thighs actually had teeny little scabs on them the next day. My time...

We should do the 20 minute challenge run thing in Winnipeg on the 18th. Yay running!

Well, the labret turned out to be NFG. Slight allergic reaction to trace nickel in the stainless steel in the jewelry combined with naturally occurring oral bacteria resulting in nasty pustules inside my lip. Ew! Took the thing out and the pustules went away in a few hours. Sigh. Moral of this story: if I get anything else pierced, I have to shell out the...

Oh! Nope. Missed that whole debate completely. What was that all about?

Nice new tattoo by the way!

Well, vaction is almost over. I have accomplished a lot of sleeping (zzzz), watcing a lot of CSI (yay, box sets!), some house cleaning (that was mostly today), and a bunch of play wrap-up stuff. Oh, on that note, if you or anyone you know is into, say, the SCA or other Renaissance Fair-type things, I'll be e-Baying some costumes shortly. I'll put up a...

i have to say: i loved my labret but i wish i had taken a tiny bit more notice on what it was doing to my gums. it didn't cause a lot of damage--in fact, it's hardly noticeable--but that kind of damage doesn't reverse. i just want you to be careful toosmile

I miss CSI so damn much.

(Also ya, be careful with those labrets, dangerous bastards they are).

Well, play's done. I'll be doing wrap up stuff for a while (the garage is full of costumes and set pieces, my husband's drill got sent home with the wrong guy, final accounting report needs to be done, etc.), but I think I can say we did well. I've heard nothing but good things from our audience, the cast bonded really well, we may have...

Hopefully a spring fever thing, anyway. 'Cause it's already getting old and I don't fancy going through it every day forever.

I would say emotions were likely to be high-strung the night of the cast party... it at least seemed like you and the actor in question had worked things out. Yes? No? Eventually?
danny_g:
Most people feel a need to try and console someone they've made cry. Not everyone gets that you don't like to be touched when you're upset.

So...busy...play...making...me...crazy...

On that note: Oi! Come see the oeuvre that's been keeping me away from my computer and almost everything else recently. For information on how / when to do this, please consult the Scorpio Theatre web site.

Now, what the hell is this place for if not unecessary emotional whining. This show has not been good for my emotional well-being. I find myself...

When, specifically, I end up mopey isn't particularly up to me. Or I just wouldn't do it. But here we are.

It's easier for married women to make the compliment, because they won't get called on it. I've been single for five years now with no end in sight, so forgive me if I don't take great solace in how attractive I am to unavailable women.

Well, I'm now home from my honeymoon. The best word I can think of to describe it is, unfortunatley, extra-pukey. We went on a dive trip and lived on a boat for a week. Turns out I get sea sick. Like, can't-get-off-the-bathroom-floor-or-I'll throw-up-again sea sick. I had no way of knowing this was going to happen 'cause I've never really been on a boat before....

Yeah, well, there's been a change in the landscape this week. Doesn't mean I'm going to avoid socializing when it pops up (as it has fairly thoroughly the last three days), just means that if it's just me and Tivo three days a week I'm more than okay with that.

Well, Fringes were entertaining. We did Calgary Fringe as participants (only saw 2 shows other than ours, bad me) and Edmonton as spectators (12 plays in 3 days, plus 4 outdoor shows).

I am indeed annoying a seamstress. I got to try on my dress yesterday and it is, as predicted, huge. I have to buy shoes, though, so we know how long it should...

Happy birthday!!!! Dang this new site setup. I never know when it's somebody's birthday anymore!!!!

One of my cats has come up with an idea solution to insect problems. He chases them around for a while and when he gets bored he ....sits on them. One day he's going to do that to a bee and regret it but for the time being he's putting his extra weight to go use!
