Today my grandfather passed away at the age of 98 years old -- a quintessential Brooklyn toughie who I adore.

I was hoping to see some of y'all in the gorgeous flesh while I'm in NYC but for the moment I'll be taking care of funeral arrangements and helping my mom adjust, so please forgive me if I dont answer messages or calls right away....

I'm in NYC and just spent the holidays with my family ... unscathed!!! woohoo! A life milestone. Let's party. Forgot my cell in Belgium and wont have it until my hubby comes into town on friday, so holla if you wanna get together.

On January 12, mark you calendar for a party of tattoo geeks and freaks for the Inked Inc show at Tattoo Culture...

In the past few months, I was offered three major TV opportunities. I turned them down. One was a tough decision because it would have entailed traveling around the world--Borneo, Thailand, New Zealand, Tahiti...--and doing a serious documentary on tattoo cultures. A very sexy offer but then it would have meant putting everything I've worked for--including my marriage--on hold for some time just for 15...

When are you going to be in NYC? I'm visiting my mom in Brooklyn right now for the next few weeks. Email me, I won't be at my computer much but that will go directly to my phone.

You better meet up with Fracky! Just dont kidnap her for too long, she needs to return to me!

A couple of weeks ago, I put out a call for participants to a tattoos & sex study survey I'm doing for my Needled.com and outside publication.

Due to the overwhelming (and wonderful!) response, I'm unable to respond to each person who contacted me, so I've created an online survey.

Wanna play?

Happiness is geekin out with my step-son Axel at an Anime con.

I just love how he's wonderfully nerdy--does math problems for fun, on the chess team, top in his class--especially in light of his cave-man dad. [Dont get me wrong, I like a man who can tear another man apart barehanded.]

Axel wants to grow up to be a blogger like "Marisette". Nuf said....

As my fave holiday approaches--Halloweeeeeeeeeen--the plan this year is NOT to get dressed up like a Britney on crack but to do some spooky shit. Turns out that there's this haunted cave in a nearby Belgian town. No flammable costumes, as this is a carry-your-own torch event. Sneakers a must for fleeing in a Blair Witch type panic. Shit. Maybe I should film it.

Dan...

Hey y'all. I'm taking a short break from my Tattoo Law book (forever in progress) to research a topic much more fun but just as kinky: Tattoos & Sex. Specifically, I'm looking into aspects such as tattoos in relation to sexual attractiveness to sexual arousal during tattooing to specific tattoo fetishes. This is limited to tattoos and does not include piercings and other forms of...

I had no idea that you were working on a Tattoo Law book. I'm getting ready to start reseraching for a tattoo law paper in the spring. I'd love to talk to you sometime! I'd love to meet up for tea in Brooklyn and talk if you could fit me in.

The London Convention was a great time despite my jetlag from NY. I was fabulously positioned near the SG booth where those gorgeous ladies in attendance posed for the crowd and signed up new members. Unfortch, I didnt take pix except with my crazy macbook photobooth cam. Luckily, the equally fabulous Tim Kern helped with the photography, which I'll post to Needled soon. Here are...

I actually chuckled when I saw that image and this comment^^.
I read your article explaining your tattoo choice and motivations, in regards to your stance on tattoos; you are me except educated and employed, if that makes sense.

Happy Friday the 13th!

Last night Dan and I were collapsed on our couch back home in Belgium when we started talking about Michael Moore's Sicko and how we cant wait until it comes to Europe. Well, instead of waiting we downloaded it for FREE and I'm thrilled we did.

But it left me anxious as to how to actually change things in the US....

Norway has the same great health care. I dont mind paying for that. When my mum died, we collected about $6000 from the funeral attendees, and gave it to the hospitals cancer ward so they could get a break and redecorate, make things fresher.

But thats not why I dropped by. Just to send you this link to stuff you might well have seen before, but is worth seeing again :-)
