So, I have a second interview with the travel site up in Boston. One might ask why it is that they're paying another $1000 for me to fly up again, get a hotel again, and rent a car again, when they could have just as easily had me meet a couple more people the last time I was there. I don't fucking know, honestly. They apparently changed their minds about what they thought I'd be best for, but the new job is virtually a word-for-word match of my resume, so why the hell did this never cross their minds in the first place? God I hope this isn't a preview of upper management's decision-making skills. Still, the first time I was up there the place seemed pretty laid-back, yet there was interesting work going on. So, my sort of place. Plus, it was really nice to be back in Boston. I might actually end up living semi-near where I lived during college. Not that I have any intention of reprising my old hangouts (maybe once for nostalgia's sake, but no more), but it was a nice area, relatively cheap due to the student population, and right near the confluence of the various Green line sublines (B/C/D)
Anyway, I guess the upshot here is that there's about a 60%-70% chance I'm moving to Boston within the next month? Shouldn't jump to conclusions, since I do have a miraculous talent for sabotaging otherwise-promising scenarios, but this one looks pretty good.
