Well that was a pleasant weekend, despite an early start to Saturday. Usually I'll lurk in my pit (15' diameter, 8' deep, plenty of pillows and beer drip attachments) I somehow crawled out at 8am to nip off down the Post Office to collect Series 1 of Fraggle Rock and to get all my food shopping done, an early start does avoid all the crowds...

Madawg, the joy of the wall,
Madawg, before he was in the grave,
Was a fortress of abundance
Of games, and society.
The son of Uthyr before he was slain,
From his hand he pledged thee.
Erof the cruel came,
Of impotent joy;
Of impotent sorrow.
Erof the cruel caused
Treacheries to Jesus.
Though he believed.
The earth quaking,
And the elements darkening,
And a...

Roll on tomorrow evening, a lovely long weekend with no work and travelling, spring sunshine and quite possibly a nice beer garden.

There are very few films I can watch repeatedly, this is from one of them. I've loved this film for near 23 years. I raided my elder brothers and my fathers record collection when I was a sprog and had a half knackered old record player. I had my mates around to listen to Motorhead, Maiden and other such albums, I still remember the look...

I'm not surprised you can watch it repeatedly if it's only 3 minutes 10 seconds long tongue

Cavelle is watching the Da Vinci Code, how bloody annoying. I'll happily stick to gaming and sneakily invade Crete while the Byzantines are busy squabbling with the Fatimids over Antioch.

X-2 is dire. It's more or less and expansion pack of side quests for X....only designed purely for people with an IQ of 50 or less, and a love for all things 'cutesy' puke I played it for a while just to get a fix - but gave up after about 40 hours or so because I got sick of nothing new happening. There was an XI as well but that was PC only and online, much like WoW - so you had to pay a subscription. I never bothered with it in the end; but I know it has its followers.

The following is quoted from memory so may be a little inaccurate.

If you don't hurray up I'll miss my audience with the Pope.

Ah, don't worry Len they repeat those shows all the time.

I think it's much better, but then I quite liked the original anyway. This one has a much more at the beginning about Balian's background, and then a lot more towards the end about the princess's child and why she behaved the way she did. The extras are pretty interesting too. They acknowledge it's not fully historically accurate, but they're quite right to point out that it's probably *still* one of the most historically accurate films ever to make it to the screen. You get to see Ridley Scott's director process in a lot of detail too, which is very interesting to watch. And Eva Green hmmmmmm *rubs trousers* tongue

This evening I have had to put up with Pride & Prejudice. Bugger. After a long shitty week at work I rather fancied watching Street Trash and seeing tramps melting.
kinto:
I feel your pain - I had to study Pride & Prejudice at the university. That was painful.

After a long day at work, and delays on the Picadilly Line as usual fuckers, I came home to a suprise. I walked into my living room and, lo!, there was a whacking great pumpkin on the table. Even though Cavelle eats a hell of a lot more fruit'n'veg than me, I've never known her to have a fondness for pumpkins. So, with slight confusion...

Your journal made me chuckle. I've lost days before, even weeks; but I've never lost more than a month so far. biggrin

Thanks for your comment in my journal; legends and folklore really interest me and I was unfamiliar with the full story of Brigid. It's amazing what they don't teach in schools, eh? Shame really; stories like those would have made the whole experience infinitely more interesting.
forkandles:
biggrin One of my former housemates used to keep me regularly entertained by her scattiness - but she WAS scatty, I assume Cavelle isn't, which makes it funnier.
How's things with you anyway?

Robbers of the world, having by their universal plunder exhausted the land, they rifle the deep. If the enemy be rich, they are rapacious; if he be poor, they lust for dominion; neither the east nor the west has been able to satisfy them. Alone among men they covet with equal eagerness poverty and riches. To robbery, slaughter, plunder, they give the lying name of...
