Today, Olive's remains came home to me. I feel a great sadness and a relief at the same time. She's living in a sparkly on my desk nowadays. She will stay there until Kingston, where she'll get the sunny wondowsill.

Actually up until a few weeks ago, basic training (something like 7 months) was mandatory for male adults in Germany (they could get out of it easily if they wrote a letter about how they refuse to bear arms). They just cancelled it. But no one gave a shit who you banged in your free time...
